Origami Owl Review – Another Jewelry MLM Scam?

You are doing research on Origami Owl because someone approached you about it and you want to know if this company is legit or a scam. That’s what we’re about to find out.

If you have been here before, welcome back!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my Origami Owl review!

One of the common questions I get asked often is if Origami Owl a scam or not.

We’re going to take the next few minutes to take a look and get some answers.

The main concern I have for people who are researching this opportunity is that I don’t want them to get burned. In the profession of network marketing, anything could happen.

A company ends up shutting down in a few months due to bad business decisions for being non-compliant, compensation plan change, or the company not paying it’s distributors.

Even worst, your direct sponsor or upline leaves the company. Leaving you hanging to dry.

I understand that many of you are new. Sometimes we are not in a position to make a solid business assessment due to inexperience.

Additionally, I am going to offer you a way for you to escape the ‘9 to 5’ if you decide that this company is not for you.

More information about this program will be at the end of this post.

You landed on this blog because you are thinking about joining Origami Owl because someone approached you about it or you just want to try out their products.

Unlike all the other Origami Owl reviews on the internet, this is completely third party unbiased. I have no relationship with this company what so ever so when you read this blog post all the way through and pay attention, I can assure you that I am not going to ask you to join or buy.

By the time you have read this unbiased review, you will be able to decide if Origami Owl is a fit or not. I do not promote, nor I am affiliated with Origami Owl. I stand neutral in the current development of the Origami Owl business.

With that said, let’s dive in!

What is Origami Owl?

Origami Owl is an MLM company that sells custom jewelry company selling charms, lockets, chains, rings, earrings, bracelets, and watches. The company is based out of Arizona and was founded in 2010.

The company was founded by Bella Weems. Bella at the age of 14 started selling lockets to friends and family after school. Slowly and steadily the business grew and Bella Weems became the founder of Origami Owl.

The company’s business model is similar to Paparazzi Accessories, Color Street, LuLaRoe, and SeneGence.

They claim that they have thousands of Independent Designers across the U.S. and Canada. They sell jewelry in the categories of charms, living lockets, chains, bracelets, personalize and accessorize. You can know more about the products through the official website of the company.

What does Origami Owl sell?

Origami Owl’s products are an assortment of unique trinkets that have been designed by founder Isabella.

Her biggest and most innovative accomplishment was crafting the living locket, a unique transparent glass locket that can hold different trinkets or charms. Every trinket and charm has a special meaning, and you can essentially build a memory or a piece of history within your locket.

Origami Owl additionally offers:

  • Chains
  • Dangles
  • Custom Inscribed Jewelry
  • CORE
  • Plates
  • Bracelets
  • Earrings
  • Watches
  • Lanyards

Origami Owl’s prices are super reasonable. For instance, charms cost $5.00. Living Lockets’ prices vary from as low as $12.00 to $36.00 for the more complex and fancier lockets. You’ll notice that most of the pieces are sold individually for the consumer to assemble themselves.

You can purchase the chains and add the gems, or buy a bangle bracelet and the accessories to dress it up yourself.

The Origami Owl compensation plan

Origami Owl independent designer can sell products for retail prices and also have the chance to enroll other independent designers and make cash on their personal volume too. Origami Owl promises that, as a designer, you are able to:

  • Get paid what you are truly worth
  • Direct your own success
  • Pick and choose your own hours
  • Change your life while impacting others

To start your journey you need to purchase an Origami Owl business kit:

  1. On-the-Go Kit – $49
  2. Basic Kit – $99
  3. Business Builder Kit – $199
  4. Owlette Kit (for young entrepreneurs) – $99

Through selling items and recruiting new members you can:

  • Sell jewelry and earn 30–50% commission
  • Build your team and make income mentoring others
  • Earn trips, acknowledgment, and incentives

Another way you can get involved with Origami Owl is by hosting a Jewelry Bar. So what is a jewelry bar you ask? It’s an outlet to mingle among friends, family, even co-workers, and to share a unique experience involving jewelry.

If you’re already getting excited about becoming a “hostess with the most,” here are some additional perks to hosting a jewelry bar:

  1. Earn free jewelry – yup you can work as an independent designer to start earning “Hostess Hoot Loot” that can be used toward free jewelry.
  2. Discounts & rewards – Use Origami Owl’s Take-Out Menu (also known as their catalog) to choose your favorite stuff and check out the Hostess Rewards chart to figure out how you can earn items on your wish list for absolutely no cash.
  3. +1 Equals More Fun – more names on the guestlist for your Jewelry Bar means more earning potential for you. Invite everyone you know and ask them to bring a friend or two also.

So the hostess rewards program basically gives people the chance to get discounted or free items. The jewelry bar has to be a minimum of $250 in retail sales and at least four guests must attend. If you spend the minimum, you’re going to end up with one item at half price and an exclusive 20% discount.

When a jewelry bar totals more than $1,000, you will have four half-priced items and an exclusive free item. Commissions on charms, plates, and dangles are a generous 50%. All other jewelry commissions are 30% which isn’t bad at all. Another great aspect of Origami Owl is that commissions can be paid on a weekly or monthly basis.

How to join Origami Owl

What are the pros and cons of Origami Owl?

Here are the pros:

  • Low startup cost
  • Custom jewelry

Here are the cons:

  • Constantly doing parties
  • Need to recruit others
  • Income potential limited
  • 95% of Origami Owl affiliates do not make money

My final thoughts

Before you decide to join Origami Owl. I would recommend that you try out the products first. See if it’s a fit for what you’re looking for.

If you don’t believe in the products that you are selling, chances are others wouldn’t. Makes sense, right?

If you’ve decided that you want to join Origami Owl, you must have the following if you want to succeed:

  • A support team and system that will help build your business.
  • A mentor that will take you by the hand and help you reach your dreams and goals.
  • A constant flow of new leads and prospects that want to join your business.

It is not easy to be successful in the Origami Owl business and which is why more than 95% fail.

If you feel the person you are going to sign up with is not going to be able to give you the necessary tools to help you succeed…
