Regardless of the type or size of your multilevel marketing (MLM) organization, the three-way call will always be one of the most effective marketing and prospecting tools that you can use in order to grow your team by leaps and bounds over time. Even some of the most established MLM organizations and teams around the world still rely on teaching their team members how to master the three-way call method as soon as possible after being recruited initially. Aside from understanding how to technically place a three-way call, how can you effectively master the three-way call for your own MLM business?
Understand the Sense of Urgency
Three-way calls need to be viewed by your MLM team as being a required necessity instead of an optional method that may or may not be used on a regular basis. Beginners and experts alike within this particular industry are effective at mastering the three-way call simply because they understand the sense of urgency involved. As soon as you have captivated the attention of an MLM prospect, you need to get them to hear the story, viewpoints and conviction of someone else besides you as soon as possible. Once the presentation has been completed, linking them through a three-way call to your upline immediately is essential.
The Foundation of the Follow-Up
In order to effectively master a three-way call you need to make sure that you have already established the foundation of a follow-up first. Doing so will allow you to make sure that you have all of your ducks in a row before showtime. Make sure that you have already called your upline to make sure that they would be available to take the call when you make it unless you want to waste your time completely.
Get the prospect involved and engaged by asking leading and probing questions to find out what they loved most about the presentation or marketing tool that was used so that you will be able to develop an effective baiting system that will lure them in for the kill after the three-way call has already taken place. Basically, by establishing a foundation, you will be setting up the pins so that all your upline will need to do is come in briefly to knock it down.
Build Up the Trust of Your Upline
One of the biggest errors that many MLM recruiters make when it comes to executing the perfect three-way call is that they do not build up the credibility of their upline enough before making the three-way call. Edification is an essential piece of this puzzle because it allows you to truly paint a picture of your upline as being the greatest and most insightful expert available. You want your prospect to approach this call as if they are going to be talking to a celebrity on the phone because that is the only way that they are truly going to take it seriously. This is going to be the key that you need to unlock the door for your prospect to become an official recruit shortly after the three-way call is over.
It’s your turn!
Do you use three-way calls as a tool to build your business? Are there any tips that you can add to the list? Please leave your feedback in the comments section and I look forward to reading them!
Thanks! I do use 3-ways in my Network Marketing business, but I should take advantage of them more!
Yes, they are highly effective! Thanks you for commenting! 🙂
What’s great about the 3 way call as a tool is that it creates social proof, the sense of “team”, it’s validating and lets the potential team partner know how things are done and that help is available. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome! Appreciate the comments!
I have got to explore this as I am intending to start small English classes from home. Thanks for the advice!
You’re welcome Michelle. 🙂
This is great info Nate! There were times when I really needed to rely on 3-way calls.
Awesome. When used properly they are effective. Thanks Stefani!
Thanks Nate! I have always been terrified of 3-way calls. This has taken some of the STRESS out of it!!!
Awesome. Glad this helps! 🙂
I know about 3 way calls, but haven’t been part of one. It makes sense in the way it works. Thanks for explaining.
Right on Pam. Glad that it made more sense 🙂
Well done Nate. I especially like the advice about building the credibility of your upline. A lot of people won’t submit their egos and they are not able to understand why they can’t break thru.
Hi Greg,
Leaving your ego at home is the first thing that every entrepreneur needs to do. Your ego will hurt you and your business. Thank you for the comments!
Hi Nate,
Good points! Love the celebrity note. Build up your upline to impressive prospects. Pump em up. People need to know in order to trust the source and get on the 3 way call.
Thanks!
Ryan
Hey Nate,
I do have to admit, when I first got into MLM I use to hate doing 3 way calls LOL…that’s because I wasn’t good at it and thought it was a waste of time. But later I found them to be very beneficial to get that 3rd party validation from my upline or one of the leaders in my organization. When your prospects get the feeling that they’re going to get the solution to their problems as well as talk to a “celebrity” then it makes it all the better. Thanks for sharing!
