Arbonne International Review – Another Health And Wellness MLM Scam?

You are doing research on Arbonne because someone approached you about it and you want to know if this company is legit or a scam. That’s what we’re about to find out.

If you have been here before, welcome back!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my Arbonne review!

One of the common questions I get asked often is if Arbonne is a scam or not.

We’re going to take the next few minutes to take a look and get some answers.

The main concern I have for people who are researching this opportunity is that I don’t want them to get burned. In the profession of network marketing, anything could happen.

A company ends up shutting down in a few months due to bad business decisions for being non-compliant, compensation plan change, or the company not paying it’s distributors.

Even worst, your direct sponsor or upline leaves the company. Leaving you hanging to dry.

I understand that many of you are new. Sometimes we are not in a position to make a solid business assessment due to inexperience.

Additionally, I am going to offer you a way for you to escape the ‘9 to 5’ if you decide that this company is not for you.

More information about this program will be at the end of this post.

You landed on this blog because you are thinking about joining Arbonne because someone approached you about it or you just want to try out their products.

Unlike all the other Arbonne reviews on the internet, this is completely third party unbiased. I have no relationship with this company what so ever so when you read this blog post all the way through and pay attention, I can assure you that I am not going to ask you to join or buy.

By the time you have read this unbiased review, you will be able to decide if Arbonne is a fit or not. I do not promote, nor I am affiliated with Arbonne. I stand neutral in the current development of the Arbonne business.

With that said, let’s dive in!

What is Arbonne?

Arbonne is an MLM company founded by Petter Mørck. The company sells products in the health and beauty industry. Arbonne began with its direct selling model in Switzerland in 1975 and currently is headquartered in Irvine, California as of 1980.

Petter Mørck

The company is similar to Amway, Melaleuca, and Shaklee in that it relies on the MLM business model, and typical sales come from home parties of the Arbonne consultant or independent consultant and person-to-person sales.

Its product line features over 400 items and includes cosmetics, weight loss, and skin-care products. Arbonne claims that its products are naturally-inspired and scientifically proven. The company has its own research and development facility and scientific advisory board.

What does Arbonne sell?

Arbonne deals in following types of product lines;

  • Skincare – Facial cleanser, Instant lift gel, sunscreen, shave soothing lotion, toner, etc.
  • Bath & Body – Essential oils, hand lotions, moisturizing creams, body wash, etc.
  • Makeup – Sunscreens, Eyeliner, facial cleansing, mascara, lipstick, etc.
  • Nutrition – Shakes, boosters, snack bars, antioxidants, etc.
  • Hair – Shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, revitalizing masque, hair serum, etc.

The products are pretty common, but they are very expensive as well. You could get much better brands from the market at a lower price.

The Arbonne compensation plan

There are different ways you can use Arbonne;

Become a customer

It means you are simply a customer and purchasing their products at retail prices. You cannot be part of their success plan.

Become an Independent consultant

The cost is $79 for Independent Consultant (IC), but here you can get a 35% discount on the product retail price.  Plus, you now can join their compensation plan (They called it a Success Plan) as well.

This is the level you must get if you want to build this business.

The more you support others on your team to improve their sales volume, the more you will be compensated as you advance to management levels in their compensation plan.

Arbonne Independent Consultants can earn in four ways through their success plan;

  1. Client Commissions: If you made direct sales to your clients you will earn 35% off Suggested Retail Price (SRP), and you will earn 15% of SRP if you made sales to preferred Clients (PC).
  2. Overrides: This is the commissions paid to you on the product sales volume (PSV) of your team.
  3. Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus: It is only available to Vice Presidents based on their team’s PSV.
  4. Other Cash Bonuses: It is available at each level based on your personal sales or team product sales

As an independent consultant, there are few more advanced stages you can move up and earn more commission. The advanced stages are;

  1. District Manager
  2.  Area Manager
  3.  Regional Vice President
  4.  National Vice President

To achieve those levels, there are certain criteria, and I recommend you to see their 20 pages compensation plan here to get a detailed idea.

How to join Arbonne

To become an independent consultant there are several fees and quotas necessary to become an independent consultant and to remain active in the business.

The starter kit that aspiring independent consultants must purchase costs $79. This kit includes:

  • Welcome CD
  • Benefits and specials flyers
  • Order forms and product catalog
  • Achieving business success workbook
  • Brochures and forms for recruiting new independent consultants
  • Compensation and opportunity manual
  • Some product samples

To remain active as an independent consultant, people are expected to pay $30 per year. This fee will be due every 12 months. The date the fee is due is based on the date when the consultant signed up. For example, if you sign up in March, every March the fee will be due.

To receive commissions, independent consultants must meet a monthly quota. Every month, you must sell at least $150 worth of products. If independent consultants cannot meet the quota, they are expected to buy products themselves to meet them.

What are the pros and cons of Arbonne?

Here are the pros:

  • Long history
  • It encourages a healthy lifestyle
  • Good BBB rating
  • Great tools and support

Here are the cons:

  • Expensive startup costs
  • Expensive to stay active in the business
  • Too many products
  • The compensation plan is hard to understand
  • 95% of Arbonne members does not make money

My Final Thoughts

Before you decide to join Arbonne. I would recommend that you try out the products first. See if it’s a fit for what you’re looking for.

If you don’t believe in the products that you are selling, chances are others wouldn’t. Makes sense, right?

If you’ve decided that you want to join Arbonne, you must have the following if you want to succeed:

  • A support team and system that will help build your business.
  • A mentor that will take you by the hand and help you reach your dreams and goals.
  • A constant flow of new leads and prospects that want to join your business.

It is not easy to be successful in the Arbonne business and which is why more than 95% fail.

If you feel the person you are going to sign up with is not going to be able to give you the necessary tools to help you succeed…
