What is Ambit Energy?
Ambit Energy is an MLM that focuses on the electric and gas services industry. The company was founded in 2006 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
Ambit Energy was founded by Jere Thompson Jr and Chris Chambless.
The company’s business model is similar to ACN, 5Linx, Lyconet, and iMarketsLive.
It runs on a recruitment-based model so you make more money as you recruit more people, and if your downline recruits more people. But they are limited to operating in only 17 states within the USA and their Independent Consultants (their distributors) are not only competing against the big energy corporations but against each other as well. They have a sub-par compensation plan and they’re very elusive about disclosing financial information.

Now let’s look at the services which this Company claims;
Commercial Services
The Company helped power the growth of businesses both large and small since they have opened their services.
They also have a dedicated team of Commercial experts who understand the special energy needs of small and large businesses. Even the claim that their rates are the most competitive in the industry.
They also promise no interruption of service, and also you can subscribe to their plan in minutes online or through their Independent Consultants.
Ambit Energy and Green-e Energy
Ambit Energy’s Green-e Energy program is a certified one that offers renewable energy from sources like wind. It will bring you electrical power that isn’t only reliable but also environmentally friendly.
Ambit Energy cares about the environment and offers a green energy product that promotes renewable energy generation. It means all of their plans aiming for reducing the environmental impact of electricity and gas you use.
If you don’t know renewable energy, here is the definition;
Renewable energy is energy that is produced from renewable resources, which are naturally refilled on a human timescale, such as sunlight, wind, rides, rain, and waves. Renewable energy often delivers energy in four important areas:
- Electricity generation
- Air and water cooling/heating
- Transportation
- Rural energy services
Renewable energy is now a growing market with climate change being such a hot topic. That’s why the Company has creates a positive image among people which led them to significant growth over the years.
Solar Plans
The Company comes up with innovative ways to increase your savings. They have also join consensus with Sunrun, to provide reasonable residential solar options to their Customers.
This service is currently available in California, District of Columbia, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Maryland, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.
Ambit Home Services
Ambit Energy provides its customers with an opportunity to save on unexpected repairs. They have partnered with Allied Warranty to form Ambit Home Services, and offer some important protection for you and your family.
They provide two forms of coverage;
- AC/Heat Shield –It is a low-cost monthly plan to prevent people from unexpected costs of repair or replace heating and cooling systems.
- Ambit Surge Protection – Power surge can destroy expensive electronics and kitchen appliances in your home. To prevent this cost, you can subscribe to their cheap monthly plans.
Ambit compensation plan
There are also other advantages to joining Ambit, which you’ll be able to take advantage of immediately:
- The opportunity to earn free energy: you earn this reward after referring 15 customers to enroll in Ambit Energy as their energy provider. This makes their MLM program worth their while.
- Travel rewards: you also earn travel rewards for referring customers or from earning reward points that can be exchanged for trips. While it doesn’t really make a profit, free stuff is always cool.
The Ambit Energy Compensation Plan does its best to not go into too many details but I was able to get you three ways on how you can earn money through Ambit Energy.
Customer & Team Bonuses
First you, have the customer and team bonuses. This is paid weekly and allows you to get started into earning quickly under the program.
You simply get customers into your business while sponsoring others to do the same. You can earn $100 for getting 4 customer points.
You earn these points by signing customers up to an energy plan or signing them up to a personal website package.
Then you also earn $100 for helping someone to do the same, hence, the recruitment part of their opportunity.
Residual Commissions
This is what makes up the bulk of their customers’ earning potential, and is what their Independent Consultants are building towards.
The amounts you earn under residual commissions varies according to the market you’re operating within the USA. See what I mean when I say that they do their best into not giving out too much detail for their compensation plan?
You are able to build a network of 6 levels of downline where you can earn commissions based on your downlines’ customer activity.
To put it simply, when they earn, you earn.
Leadership Bonuses
This is where you earn bonuses when you sign up a new MC or Marketing Consultant and him or her getting 4 customers points within their first 4 weeks. You also get paid a residual bonus based on any MC’s customers in your downline.
Leadership bonuses are also recurring, depending on the customer activity throughout the organization. All leadership bonuses depend on what level you are within the organization.
The more active your downline is the higher your bonuses.

- Residual pay is small
- Minimal training
- 95% of Ambit Energy members do not make money
How to join Ambit Energy
In order to become an Ambit consultant and make money promoting it, you are going to have to pay a membership fee. This will cost you a one-time fee of $429 plus a $24.95 monthly fee to stay active.
It doesn’t matter that you are an Ambit customer, you will still have to pay both these fees on top of everything else.
My final thoughts
Before you decide to join Ambit Energy. I would recommend that you try out the products first. See if it’s a fit for what you’re looking for.
If you don’t believe in the products that you are selling, chances are others wouldn’t. Makes sense, right?
If you’ve decided that you want to join Ambit Energy, you must have the following if you want to succeed:
- A support team and system that will help build your business.
- A mentor that will take you by the hand and help you reach your dreams and goals.
- A constant flow of new leads and prospects that want to join your business.
It is not easy to be successful in the Ambit Energy business and which is why more than 95% fail.
