5 Tips On How To Build Credibility Online

Have you ever wondered that when you are in the market to buy something, you buy that thing from a particular brand whilst ignoring the rest of the brand offering the same type of product? The reason behind this selection is that the particular brand you select has created some credibility in your eyes either by offering a quality products, customer service or unique products. Therefore, it is the credibility of the brand that makes you prefer it over others.

When it comes to social media marketing, to achieve any of its objectives which vary from business to business the goal is to build brand credibility. The more credible the brand is the more engagement will it cause and the ultimate result would be the better outcomes from social media activities. Let me tell you a few effective tips that can help you build brand credibility online.

Setup A Complete Profile:

The first thing that plays a crucial role in building brand credibility only is a complete social media platform profile. When the profile is complete, it tells all the customer wants to know about the business, thus the trust of the customer after verification of respective type over the brand increases. In this regard, I recommend having a profile picture, website address, cover photo, apps, contact number as the primary requisites for creating a credible profile. Therefore, make your profile as informative as possible so that the fans know everything about your business and can trust it when the time comes.

The Art of Storytelling:

Although it seems contradictory, however, in order to build credibility online, the business needs to master the art of storytelling. In this storytelling, the objective of the business must be to inform the target audience about the history and the coming into existence story of the business. In this regard, the business needs to add information about it in all its profile and all the platforms must have the same information so that the fans are able to relate between them and authenticate for developing trust in the business.

Engaging and Useful Content:

The third thing that you need to do online in order to build credibility is to share useful and engaging content. The useful content is one that provides some kind of information to the audience that is beneficial for them. Thus, when the business shares useful content, the audience appreciates it and reckons brands as one of those that share quality information. Moreover, by producing engaging content the business ensures that the customers indulge and interact with the brand, and when that happens, the credibility of the brand to the target audience increases substantially.

How Build Credibility Online 2

Constant Visibility:

The fourth thing to build credibility is to make sure that the brands stay visible to the target audience. This visibility can only be ensured once the brand keeps on sharing content on a regular basis. The online world is highly competitive, therefore, if in this world, the business stops showing up with content on regular bases, it soon goes into oblivion and people no more remember about it, thus the brand is never able to establish credibility. Therefore, in order to be credible, the brand needs to be consistent in its showing up strategy.

Helping Fans:

The fifth and perhaps the most crucial of all things you can do to ensure credibility is to help the fans out. When your business helps the fans with any of their problem or queries, the ultimate result is that they trust a business with their questions and develop a feeling related to business that it helps them in solving their problems. Therefore, try helping the fans in order to gain their trust and liking.

Credibility of any brand is simply ‘service after the sale’. If a company doesn’t stand behind its product, their brand will garner the wrong opinions of the consumer.

Great post Nate. Credibility is so important. I agree with all your points. Another aspect I thought of when assisting your customers is treating them with courtesy and respect by not making them feel stupid for asking questions. In the past I was made to feel idiotic as I had made a mistake. I felt really small and wanted to give up. I now have no association with that particular leader…..

  19. Hi Nate,

My definition of a credible brand is someone who goes the extra mile or minute to explain something to someone and help, tests programs or biz ops out before promoting and does not blast “hyped up ads” and willing to accept the responsibility if they have made a mistake and be honest about it.

    Have a great day. Monna
