4 Key Points To Remember When Things In Your Business Gets Tough

The one thing that comes knitted with a business venture is a risk. There is no business in this world that is without the element of risk. Therefore, wherever there is risk hard times are definitely to follow, thus it is imperative that you have your mind straight when the hard times come, as there is always light on the other side of the tunnel.

I’ll be honest with you that when the going gets tough for the business, even the best of us break and give away all our efforts and struggles. The hard times are when a business owner needs to show maturity and develop an attitude that can help pass a hard time and embrace success in the growing field.

I’ll be discussing with you the four key points which you as a business owner must remember when things get tough for your business.

4 Key Points To Remember when things in your business gets tough

Believe In Your Business:

When the going gets tough for the business, one of the many signs that would surface is other people pointing out mistakes in your business either the way you conduct it or the business as a whole. They will point out all the mistakes possible, and when you pay heed to them and start comparing your business with others, it is the time when you lose the belief in your business and things start to hit you even harder and everything falls apart. At this point, you need to believe in your business, you need to sit and visualizes all the good things the business has brought you and all the time and efforts you have given to it. This belief will make you realize that things can still change and your business will get through this hard time as it has done previously.

Even A Little Progress Matters:

The thing with people in general and business people, in particular, is that they dream big and want big results that bring them close to their dreams. Therefore, when things start getting tough for the business and the business does not progress leaps and bounds, the owners think of their dream as unattainable and start making things even harder for themselves. However, in such a situation only the wise ones remember that it is the small things that gather to make a bigger body, it is the small steps towards success that make the farther goal reachable. Therefore, such people, instead of giving vent about little return to their efforts, incorporate consistency in their approach and efforts, the result of which comes in the form of the arrival of cherished moments and the passing of hard times.

Find A Mentor:

When hard and nerve shacking times come in life, people run to a psychiatrist to have an understanding of their problem and to calm their nerves, however, when hard times come to business, people don’t know where to go and they start handling things on their own which does not end well for most of them, the reason being immaturity or lack of knowledge of the situation. In such situations, a wise person needs to remember the fact that he or she requires a mentor that can help them handle the hard times of business. Finding a mentor is as imperative in business life as it is in spiritual life. You need to develop some kind of relationship with someone who has been through the same situation as you are going through. Thus, ask guidance for such time and see the ship sail through the seas of hardships.

Have Faith:

Above all, the one thing without which you possibly can never come out victorious during the hard times is faith. When you lose faith in a better future, you give up in the present and when that happens the circle of hard times starts congesting on you until it has fully taken over you. Therefore, in hard times of business, you need to have faith that there is a better future and always stay optimistic about the circumstances. When you will get through the hard times, trust me you will think of it as nothing but a test of your mind.

Yes, I love the part where you say even a little progress matters. It does and in the end it’s all still PROGRESS!

  2. The interesting thing about your blog, is faith. I believe we stop believing in ourselves, give up and throw in the towel before the dream materializes.

    Nate,

Each rough business moment is knocking on your mind’s door, wanting to teach you a lesson. Remember this when times get tough. All resistance flows your way to make you stronger. Awesome post.

I loved you tip about finding a mentor! I don’t really consider my blog as a business more of a hobbie really that’s going to make my dreams come true!

sure I blog on a daily basis and sure I read and comment on lots of blog posts, sure I give Value and Inspiration (Hopefully) and yes I do put a lot of time and effort into it.

But I enjoy all that and I know that over the coming months and years all of that effort will pay off! Like our friend Ryan keeps saying “Give Freely, Receive Easily”.

You point on finding a mentor is a great one! I am lucky in finding Ryan and he has helped me develop my mindset for living my dreams!

You made some great points here dude!
    Have a great day Nate!

Spectacular article! I agree, believe in your business even when others won’t. Find a way… fight… persevere. It will take time, but you can do it!

    Hello Nate,
This is such an “empowering” and inspiring message today!! I totally agree that Belief, Consistency (perseverance), Support, Faith and (optimism) all play a critical role in business when the going gets tough!!
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and positive influence!!
    Healthy blessings,
    Gena 🙂

  7. I love those key points! Having faith and motivation is important but acknowledging even the small steps forward is key. A mentor helps because you know they did it and also had speed bumps that they over came. Thank you!

  8. These are some awesome key points to remember when things in your business gets a little tough…..thanks Nate for sharing 🙂

  9. Nate. Believe is so important. Believing in the value you bring and the difference you can make in others. I had my beliefs challenged a few years ago when a client took their failure and turned on to me.

It took a great deal of belief and support to get past a bad situation and know that it was their issue not mine. I won’t have said this at the time but it forced me to step back and look at how I want to be as a business. As a result I’m a better coach and business owner.

    Hey Nate,

I related best with your “Even a Little Progress Matters”. I have read so many books that speak of never giving up and taking positive small steps, baby steps, which will lead to great payoffs.

The book, The Slight Edge speaks of this concept that taking small steps in a positive direction will lead to greater choices, giving momentum to reap great rewards.

Thank You for another great post.

  12. These are all great points, Nate. Belief, Progress, Mentorship and Faith. Each one is as important as the other, I think, but especially belief and faith. Without either of those, you’ve already failed. Thanks!

  13. Adam Payne says:

    Good stuff Nate,

Risk is where the magic happens. So many are afraid but you got to get in the trenches.

And finding mentor is extremely important.

If anyone is reading this blog, then reach out to Nate. He can take you where you want to go!

  14. Hey Nate,

Great tips that you shared her about how to deal with the tough times you go through with your business. The first point caught my eye. I don’t mind criticism, but I’ve come up with the conclusion is that if you’re going to criticize, at least give me some ways to make the business better. Other than that, I will disregard all criticisms and keep doing what I’m doing. Especially if the business tend to be doing better than previous times!

    Thanks for sharing!

This is the second time today that I’ve read about getting a mentor. When something like that happens, I know it’s a special message just for me! Thanks, Nate.

  16. Esha says:

Things will never be easy in your business. You are going to have some highlights and wins but most things that happen in business are failures.

  17. Kyle Nelson says:

    Hey Nate,

Great pointers on getting through the tough times. We all have them that is for sure. But I truly believe you must go though the tough times to enjoy the good times and even get to them for that matter!

  18. I think every entrepreneur goes through ups and downs in their business. Consistency and having faith in yourself is key to success. You can run into a lot of negativity from people who do not understand the nature of your business or how hard you work to make things happen, however if you keep your goals in mind and your eye on the prize, the end result will be well worth any hardships you must overcome.

  19. Hi Nate,

Great inspirational post. I have so many people against me in my online ventures and it does make it rough sometimes but I keep on. I do sometimes take a break but will never quit.

Please don’t ever let anyone make you doubt your own dreams.

    Have a great day. Monna

  20. Hi Nate, yes, things have been tough at times, but I agree with you that any movement is better than no movement at all. Little steps, as they say. I try very hard when things are tough to set small achievable goals as it really gives you that boost you need when you complete a task. I believe the key is to focus on what you can and are doing rather than what you are not.

    Enjoy the journey.

    Mandy

  21. Merle says:

So true Nate, no matter how tough it gets you must believe in yourself and have that faith that you will get past the hard times. Thanks for sharing.

  22. Christian says:

My favorite is #3. People often get laser focused on the big progress that they tend to overlook all of the little things that, in the long run, add up to much more than the sum of their parts in being successful in their business.

    Great stuff!

  23. EXCELLENT post Nate. Being in business is a brave old feat, you risk everything, you risk not being paid and you’re right, you’ve got to believe in yourself and do everything possible to push through.

  24. Not only in business ,I think when times get tough ,
do your best ,believe and trust and most important never give up
    Thank you ,Nate

  25. Misty Spears says:

Fantastic tips Nate! For me the two big ones are finding a mentor and believing in your business. Those two have really helped me to excel and still working at it. Thank you!

  26. Laurel Regan says:

Lots of good advice and helpful information – thank you for sharing!

  27. Michelle says:

Great tips. When things go wrong with my business, I look at a picture of my son because he is why I am able to work from home and do what I love!

  28. Luke Blower says:

Hi Nate, haven’t been around here for a while- great value as always. When the going gets tough thats when the really serious business people get separated from those who are not serious.

  29. Shanon Webb says:

I was so encouraged by this article. I’m going through the growth pains of my business, and for a second I thought I was a terrible owner and had no clue what I was doing.

This article gave me hope again, knowing that all businesses reach a time where they’re criticized, and have to take risks that sometimes wont benefit everyone involved.

Its been difficult for me, but I’m assured now.

    Thanks
