Within the expanding world of MLM Network Marketing, rejection is something that you must encounter at least on a daily basis in order for your business to flourish. Even though there will be some people that are thrilled about purchasing your products and joining your team as new recruits that are searching for financial freedom, most people will not. Most people will choose to reject your offer even though it clearly would be the best opportunity for them to take advantage of right away. Instead of banging your head up against the wall whenever you get rejected in your MLM business, there are a few steps that can be taken to convert that rejection into positive motivation.

Admit and Accept the Rejection
Before you can do anything when it comes to converting that rejection into motivation, you must first admit and accept the fact that the rejection actually occurred in the first place. There are so many people that exhaust their mental energy on rationalizing their way out of admitting and accepting the fact that they got rejected. They may make excuses for themselves or even for the people that rejected them to make it seem much more “pleasant” than it truly is in general. Just as most addicts are taught during rehab counseling sessions, the first step to fixing a problem is admitting that you actually have one. Once you have admitted and accepted the rejection completely, you will then be ready to work towards turning that negative into a positive picture.
Focus on the Root of Rejection
Take the time to study the actual rejection thoroughly, focusing more and more on the actual root of that rejection. What caused the rejection to grow and blossom in the first place? Was it because of a lack of information? Was it due to a lack of desire? Did you focus on finding the individual’s “Why” statement quickly enough to have a delicious piece of bait to wave in front of them whenever they got sidetracked? More importantly, do you choose the right person in the first place or was he or she a “dead lead” from the very beginning? Analyzing the root of the rejection will help you to change this overall experience into a learning experience that can make you more effective at sales and recruitment in the future.

Regain Your Excitement
After you have admitted, accepted and analyzed the rejection thoroughly, the final step towards getting that rejection to transform into positive motivation is to get pumped and excited all over again. In most cases, rejection can have a mental, emotional and even physical toll on the person that received that rejection. Regardless of how long you may have been involved in the world of MLM businesses or how successful you have become during that time, it is never easy to accept rejections. This is why it is essential for you to do your very best to get excited and regain your original enthusiasm as much as possible in order to keep the locomotive train of positive advancement and progress rolling along on the same track towards long-term financial success.
It’s your turn!
What are some ways that you take rejection and turn it into positive motivation? Please share your feedback in the comments section and I look forward to reading them!
Nate,
When people get rejected for their opportunity it has the effect of ruining their confidence. In network marketing you need to remember that if you can convert a low percentage of people you talk to then you are still considered a success.
Yes, exactly. It’s all a numbers game. Thank you for the comments!
Great message Nate!
When rejection comes my way I use/transform that energy by turning it into a positive! I believe that the Universe is always working towards our greater good so there really are no negatives, just positives waiting to be discovered and acted upon!
Healthy blessings,
Gena
Awesome stuff Gena! Appreciate the comments!
Nate,
I love the idea of really breaking the rejection down into pieces. Often, a prospect says “no” – and it really has nothing to do with YOU! Taking a moment to think through the process carefully allows you to depersonalize the interaction – and decide if you missed a step in your sales process!
Great post!
Lisa
Exactly. Most of the time when rejection happens it has nothing to do with you, it’s really them. Thank you for the comments!
Yes! It is so important to understand exactly “what” gets rejected… sometimes what caused the “no” might not be what you thought it was.
No, isn’t always a negative thing. Yet, so many people attach emotions to the word. Thank you for the comments!
I just assume they’re not in vibrational alignment with me yet if they decline/reject my offer and that’s ok. I move on. 🙂
Keep pushing and moving forward. That’s the spirit Judy! 😉
I guess I have to follow this steps now 🙂
Looks like you have no other excuses! Let’s go for it! 😉
Taking rejection personally can ruin your chances of success. You are doing them a favor by showing them so if they do not get it, it is the opportunity that they have rejected, not you. So sleep peacefully.
Exactly. Appreciate the comments!
I dabbled in MLM years ago, but I do remember, getting rejected was a big part of the business. So some great tips you’ve posted, makes sense.
Thanks Ron!
Interesting topic Nate. I’d say the reason anyone gets rejection is because they are out there sharing their story. As a natural progression they will improve and over time with experience they will find success.
Well said Greg!
As Jim Rohn explains it is simply the “law of averages.” After awhile a ratio will appear. You will then know how many you need to talk to in order to meet your goals.
The way I look at it, no simply means next. It’s nothing personal.
That’s why I like online marketing. It allows you to sift and sort a lot faster 🙂
Hi Randy,
Yes, online marketing does have it’s perks! It all depends on what angle you are looking at it from. People do make money offline as well. So what it boils down to is your perception towards rejection. Appreciate the comments!
I love your take on turning the negative into a positive. Great post nate!
Thank you Stefani! 🙂
The trick is to try never to take rejection personally, which can be especially difficult in the beginning of your MLM career, because you’re so excited and you assume everyone else in the whole wide world will be too! It doesn’t take long to figure out that that’s not the way it is. Just pick yourself up, take another step forward.
Pick yourself up and keep it moving as I always say! Thank you Jeanne!
Great content. I try to identify it and then move on and never give up.
Thank you for sharing
You’re welcome Cindy! Go out there, and make it happen! 🙂
Hey Nate,
I agree with Jeanne. Never take a rejection personally, especially if they already know if the product, service, or even the opportunity would benefit them. Why waste time on someone who is going to be stubborn where you can focus on the ones who want to take action. It’s a filtering process, but it’s well worth the effort!
You know it Sherman! Rejection comes with the territory. Start implementing the abundance mentality and rejection doesn’t really matter. Thank you for the comments!
Rejection means I need to find another approach. And as you said, perhaps the prospect wasn’t “hot” in the first place.
Yes, Pam! It’s always good to tweak and scale the approach. Thank you for the comments!
Great post about reality – I’ve discovered (of course, I have a very thick skin) if they reject me, then they aren’t my ideal client – I wouldn’t want them in my world! Whew – don’t have to worry about dealing with them at all!
Exactly. It’s probably a “good” thing they did reject you. More people should look at rejection as a good thing because it could save you grief!
Great content Nate! I see it so many times people have a let down and they never work through it and “regain their excitement” as you say. For me, I look at a rejection as a challenge to overcome and challenges motivate me. Not to say that I look forward to rejection(who would?), but when in the business of recruiting, you have to anticipate it, and that gives you a head start against any bad feelings that you may experience along the way.
That is a great approach to rejection. Appreciate the comments!
Awesome post on how to turn rejection into something positive Nate!!!! Love your value!!! Thank you for sharing !!!
