Personal Development Tips: How To Step Into Your Greatness

As you know part of your journey as you embark on your way to success, is that you need to do things that you have never done before.   You need to ask yourself, why are you doing this home-based business?  This comes from faith and knowing your ‘why‘.   I believe that everyone can live a great life, and create the life we want.  There is greatness inside of all of us that fight the forces of evil and show others how they can do the same, provided that they take a leap of faith.

The infamous 40/40/40 plan.

  1.  Working 40 hours a week.
  2.  For the next 40 years.
  3.  Living off of 40% that Uncle Sam takes for your retirement.

When you look around us, everything is conditioning us to stay average struggle.  I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound like a good way to live but the fact is that most people are aware of it, they accept it.  Sad isn’t it?  The negative images and messages that are being conveyed over television, radio, newspapers and even the people who are closest to us are infectious to this type of conditioning.  In this day in age, we need to protect our ears from this plague and re-condition ourselves for success.

So, what’s the next step that I need to take to go where I want to be?

The fun part of this process.  We have to be consciously aware of what is entering our ears.  Information is contagious by the things we see and the things we hear.  People who are struggling need to take a deep look at themselves.  The pain inside has to be so painful that it allows them to take action immediately on what it is that they want to accomplish.

Why it’s time to break free from the mold and become great

The secret here is to be uncomfortable.  You may not like it, because society has brainwashed you to be a robot and obey commands to society.  Harsh isn’t it?  We were taught to get to go school, get good grades, go to college, and go out and find a good job that will “hopefully” pay for us so that we never have to find another job and retire peacefully.  The good ol’ American dream.

There is no better time than to start making changes and filling up your mind with good and positive things.  It’s time that you take a stand for yourself and start changing your ways of how you do things.  If you believe in yourself, you can step into your ‘greatness’ and help people become who they are truly capable of becoming and in order to do that, you must take action immediately if you want to change your life.

There is a catch to all of this.  They will think you have somehow lost your marbles.  They will throw shots at you that this “MLM and Home-based Business” thing doesn’t work.  In reality, they see themselves as not getting ahead in life and at the same time, they are trying to keep you down with them.

Now it’s your turn!

Please share what situations made you uncomfortable and how you were able to step into your greatness.  I look forward to reading them!

  1. What a clear picture Nate! This is what it takes, stepping into your greatness….realizing that you need to change your programming, IDing faulty beliefs, to take the uncomfortable but freeing steps to succeed.

    Thanks for sharing my man!

      Hey Ryan!

Everything starts with programming and being able to identify beliefs and being able to change it. As the saying goes, “Your broke zone is your comfort zone”.

      Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

This is great, Nate! It is hard to step out of our comfort zones! One of my hardest things is video… that’s WAY out of my comfort zone, but I NEED to do it… you’ve inspired me. I am GOING to! Thank you!

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Katrina,

It can be challenging at times to step out of your comfort zone. Yes, when you do your first video, I would love to see it! You’ll knock it out of the park!

    Hey Nate,

Great information here. People need to wake up and realize that the 40/40/40 plan is a broken plan in these times. That is why I’m working daily to cultivate a lifestyle by design through MLM…

Thanks for sharing this valuable information

    Steve~

      Hey Steve,

I agree with what you said regarding the 40/40/40 plan. It may have worked years ago but not in the place and time we’re in now. You’re inspiring many people all over the world Steve. Thanks for your comments!

Love your ideas about the innate drive to stay average. Makes me think about my role as a school teacher.

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Pam,

Yes, it boils down to our burning desire in terms of what we want out of life. If it’s not burning, it will not get us to move. Thanks for sharing your input!

    Hi Nate,

So many things I enjoyed about this post – but what I think I loved the most was how you mentioned that society conditions us to believe and obey commands. It starts at an early age for us – and goes unquestioned. We then become the stories we’ve believed and continue to build upon them.

I was extremely uncomfortable with the idea of going to personal training school because not only was I happy being lazy in front of the television at night, but also because I didn’t think I would fit in AT ALL.

But as you said, I had to become so uncomfortable in my life that I had no choice but to make the change – and break the conditioned sense of self that I had believed for so long.

Well, long story short, BOTH my husband and I went through this (very demanding) curriculum…and not only did we both graduate with respectable scores – but I accomplished my ultimate dream by finding my writing voice and becoming a published author – about exercise safety.
And my book is sold at the school I was originally too scared to attend.

I would have NEVER figured this to be a possibility – but now it’s a reality.
So I’m living proof that what you wrote here is true 😉

    Great post!

      Hey Dana!

What an inspiring story! Funny how life works out the way that it happened.

You’re right, it can be easy to do, at the same time it can be easy not to. Being comfortable can be both good or bad. I know most would much rather live the path of being normal, average and being comfortable. I have no problem with that. My thing is that for me, being comfortable is not where I want to be.

You are definitely living the life of the possibility, and I thank you for coming on here and sharing that with me. Have a great week ahead!

So true, Nate. If you step into your greatness. You’ve got to get uncomfortable and step out of your comfort zone. All growth takes place outside of our comfort zone.

We definitely have to guard our minds and be very aware of what we allow to get into our minds and who we listen to. This is a trait that separates the super-successful people from the average people. It’s all in how we use our minds and what we allow to take root.

I appreciate you sharing this, Nate. It’s a wake up call to all of us.

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hey Etieno!

Yes, we must be consciously aware of the things that enter our minds. Just like if we were to go on a diet, we need to be aware of what foods are entering our bodies. This is no different. The more we are consciously aware of what we are doing, the things we do will dictate our results. Awesome feedback!

    Hi Nate,

Great insights, as always! I love your sharing the infamous 40/40/40 plan!

What a blessing to have you challenging others to step out of their comfort zone and play a bigger game in life!

You are spot on. There is no time like NOW to start living a GREATER life. The wonderful thing about Network Marketing is that one can start part time but focused. Once the pay cheque is bigger than the regular monthly one, that is when one can exercise their TRUE power to choose how they would like to live their life.

    Great sharing, Nate! With appreciation!

      Hi Viola,

Yes, the 40/40/40 is also the ‘Wake-up’ call! Most people do not realize that they are involved with the 40/40/40 plan. Doesn’t sound too fun if you ask me!

Love the feedback, thank you so much Viola!

  8. Hey Nate,

I’ve been thinking about this topic for the past week and here I run into this post 🙂 I guess it’s Law Of Attraction working at it’s best.

We definitely need to take hold of our own minds and mold it to how we want it to be. A lot of us have been condition, and it’s a process to recondition them to what we want it to be.

I once heard that the laziest people are the hardest working people. When I first heard it, I had to think for a minute. The reason why they’re lazy is because they don’t want to think. The thinking has already been done for them by someone else and now they’ve been programmed to do a predetermined routine. They don’t question anything, they just want to fulfill that “American Dream”.

So being uncomfortable means thinking for yourself and doing things out of the ordinary routine. It’s a challenge for most of us, but if we really want to fulfill that internal want, this is what we must do.

Thanks for the inspiring post Nate!

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hey Sherman,

Yes, it’s powerful. With that you said about the laziest people who are the hardest working people, those are the same ones who think that working smarter not harder does not exist.

      Awesome feedback Sherman! Love it!

  9. Hey Nate!

Not the best at making myself feel uncomfortable. In fact, it’s been a struggle the past few weeks.

As you know, I just graduated so I’m doing this thing full time so I don’t have to go to a J-O-B and do a 40/40/40. It just wouldn’t resonate with who I am anymore after all that I’ve been through.

Being uncomfortable in a positive way is definitely the way to go and it really isn’t easy. However, I have found the best way is to take tiny steps so that you do not get overwhelmed.

What is more important is that you learn to move forward towards your goals every single day. Do it consistently until it becomes a habit.

Guess what happens next? You step it up a notch on what you are doing, do more of what you were doing previously such that it makes you feel uncomfortable yet achievable.

If you want to succeed faster, then do more of what needs to be done. I struggle with this every single day and I don’t stop at it.

Work on your business, work on you. Nobody said success was easy. 🙂 The thing between our 2 ears like to play tricks on us, and limits us from becoming more of what we could become.

    Regards,
    Darren Spruyt

  10. Nate! I really liked this post. Personal development is such a huge piece of the wealth pie, and is sadly often overlooked. In answer to your question, I was most uncomfortable with “promoting myself.” Until I realized that I have a lot of value to share and NOT telling others was actually hindering them. Big paradigm shift for me. Now I promote my value and it’s showing up in my bank account! 🙂

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Dana,

Personal Development does make a big difference. Which is always why I say, that in any business 90% percent is mindset and 10% is the ‘how-to’. Yes, you do have lots of value. You are a leader in our industry and I appreciate you coming on my site and providing me with your comments. You rock!

  11. Cheryl Knapp says:

Hi Nate, first time on your site. I’ve been deep into personal development the last few years. I strongly believe that in any type of business 90% of the business comes from personal development. I agree with you in your article.
