Happy Birthday to NateLeung.com – Celebrates 2nd Year!

My website has been on the world wide web for two full years now — and that marks two full years of his enjoying the kind of success that everyone dreams about. It’s not every day that someone achieves a dream — and, indeed, this one was a long time coming — but, with some hard work but most importantly, working smarter, as well as a whole lot of support, you can definitely be successful just the way you want to be.  Needless to say, it’s been a journey!

Nate Leung Humble

Humble Origins

It’s funny because when people talk about where they got their start, they typically point to mom or dad, or to some local connection for how they got their start. And usually, that start isn’t so old. Amusingly enough, I registered this domain name in 2001 — nateleung.com — over a decade ago. When I first put that name on the net, I was not at all sure of what I was going to do, nor did I have any confidence that I would be able to do it.

But, I’ve realized over time that this is how anything successful has to start. You won’t know if it’s going to be successful from the beginning — you just have to jump out and try it for yourself. And, chances are, it’s not going to work for you the first time. Failure is, simply, part of the game. But failure is not negative. This is one of the lessons that it took me a little bit of time to learn, but that ultimately brought me my success in the long run.

People think of failure as a total negative, which, in my opinion, is a mistake. Failure is a natural part of learning and growing. It’s a process. When you don’t achieve a goal, it’s always for a reason. And that reason is not necessarily one that is a serious fault of your own. Rather, it typically reflects the state of the markets or other factors far beyond your control, and as such, does not reflect on your worth as a person or even your potential as an entrepreneur.

Turning Failure Into Success

The first thing you need to realize is that failure is a boon in the sense that it makes you well aware of what you have to improve. And, for me, initial failure in network marketing made me realize I really wanted to do it. It drove me to ask questions like, why did this happen? How can I change it? What would make it better?

And, over time, as you think about these questions and implement the solutions you develop in your day to day business life, you realize that had you never been ‘denied’ in one way or another, you never would have had the insight required to be successful.

Being Recognized

On this anniversary of the site launch, I also have to talk about the importance of being recognized, and what it means to me. For one, it feels amazing that people now know my name and consider me a reputable resource in this complicated field — it took a lot of work, and as I was doing it, I wasn’t always sure it would pan out this way, but I pushed and did it anyway, and sure enough, now, it has worked in my favor.

This is one of those important messages that everyone knows, but most people fail to really feel. You need to just. Keep. Pushing. It will be hard, sometimes, and you won’t always know if you’re going to come out on top, sometimes, but if you just do your best and really exploit the resources that are given to you, you will get where you need to go — and there is no doubt about that.

Top 50 MLM Bloggers

Case in point — lately, I was featured on the list of Top 50 MLM Blogs, in the number eight spot. It took a lot of work to get there, but with a dedication to the people I work with, my clients, and my partners, it sort of happened naturally. This would not have been possible without perseverance, however, and an attitude that really catered to the importance of my clients and upstream. It’s important to stay involved with those helping you run the business — the minute you lose this support, you lose everything. Remember, the family is everything; friends are everything. And this is true in business, as well. Those closest ones to you are the ones that matter the most — take care of the nearest and dearest first, and you will reap huge rewards.

Why I Keep Blogging

At this point, blogging is no longer necessary for the sake of publicity or marketing, but I continue to do it so I can give my followers and peers something of a guiding light in this complicated realm of entrepreneurship, internet marketing, and network marketing. It’s difficult to break in and difficult to master, and many people are intimidated by it as a result. And, while it’s not easy to become an expert, I do believe that it is an inviting field for many people and that it is something many people should consider as a possible career path or income boost, that they are not considering simply because they are scared.

I want people to be confident and be open to the idea of entrepreneurship. That way, they will be able to boost their own income and start to live the lives they want to live, in the same way, that I was able to do it. The difference is, for them these days, it won’t take a full thirteen years of planning or wondering — it can be done now! It just takes some intelligence, dedication, and teamwork. Once these things are had, the process is done, and the fortune rolls in, and I want people to see and realize this for themselves!

It’s your turn!

  1. Happy 2nd Year! I’ve been planning to create a site, your helping a lot of bloggers out there and keep out the good work! Congrats!

  2. What a great accomplishment Nate. Thank you for sharing as you are definitely an inspiration to us all. Just to think you registered that name back in 2001 and at that time unsure of what you would do with the domain. Look at your now! What perseverance! Thank you for sharing your story.

heartiest congrats Nate! Awesome interview 🙂

  6. We must be willing to experiment with new things be willing to fail forward by learning from our mistakes and not repeating them! The people who have become successful in mlm and in other fields as well failed many times! Their stories are not overnight. They used the Slight Edge technique. Plan, Do, Review, Adjust!

And because of using the Slight Edge over time! They became leaders in their field!

  7. As you said, it is important to keep moving forward and working at it. I have seen so many talented people quit because things did not happen fast enough. It takes time and dedication. When you have a failure, learn from it and keep going.

  8. Dee says:

Nate congrats on your two years. It is wonderful to hear that hard work and persistence can boost one’s confidence.

  9. I love blogging, without doing it I don’t know what else I’d be doing now.

  10. Congratulations on the two year mark, Nate. I echo your point about failure isn’t a negative. Because of failing at things, I’ve looked back and figured out where I went wrong. It meant the second (sometimes third or fourth) time I tried I could go in with the knowledge to help me succeed.

I’ve found your blog very helpful over the last few months and keep coming back to learn more. I don’t always comment, but know that you do have a loyal reader 🙂

  11. Jessie says:

Great advise and very inspiring. My advise to everyone with a blog is to be yourself. Don’t follow all those “blogger rules” just have fun and be you. People want to hear from real people.

  12. I love to read about success. For your two years, I have been blogging daily for one and a half years. You’re right about needing to throw yourself in wholeheartedly and try. I received some advice yesterday to switch to a WordPress blog. I took a look at the instructions today and stepped back. Way too hard. I didn’t know what half the terms meant. The only way to understand the set-up is to keep trying to learn. I’ll plug away.

Your blog has done so well!
You must be really proud. 🙂

  14. Jan Kearney says:

Happy 2nd Blogging Birthday Nate! Congrats on your achievements 🙂

  15. Alana says:

Congrats on the second anniversary, Nate. It’s an achievement – I know, because I’ve been blogging since 2009. It took me a good two years to hit my stride. So, my advice to beginners would be – don’t be discouraged. Join at least one blogging challenge, one that fits your goals – it will make you stretch and make you accountable. And, finally, take the time to read as many blogs as you can. See what works and what doesn’t.

  16. Salma says:

  18. Hey Nate,

First off, Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary. I know it was a long journey, but it was dam worth it!

Mindset is key when it comes to entrepreneurship. Best books to read are subjects on how to be attractive to people. Books like How To Win Friends And Influence People are books we all need to read over and over until it all sinks in. You mentioned this in your interview and it’s definitely 95% of the sale!

Great interview and content you shared Nate! Have a good one!

  19. Lisa says:
