6 Simple Ways To Get More Targeted To Your Website Using Twitter

The fact cannot be denied that Twitter has become one of the most celebrated social media platforms. What started as a micro-social networking platform gained popularity all across the world and now has over 500 million users. Therefore, the might of twitter is evident and its importance – especially for businesses cannot be denied.

For businesses that opt for online marketing, Twitter is a great source of traffic. However, there are businesses who despite their efforts are not able to attract any traffic from twitter whom they can convert into leads and sales. Let me share with you a few twitter tips and tricks that have worked best for me and have been the cause of great traffic influx from twitter to my website.

How To Get More Targeted Traffic To Your Website Using Twitter

Use Heads Of The Business:

It is obvious and quite simple that your followers on twitter are to pay more attention to the content shared by the heads of the company whether it is the CEO or other high-level management officers. When the tweet is shared by some other social media or sales representatives, the followers consider it less important and hence do not go to the link which it has embedded, therefore, the level of traffic on the website is minimal. On the other hand, if the tweet is by some CEO level person, the result would be that people would want to know about it more and hence the traffic to the website will increase.

Bring Value:

The other important thing that can be done to increase traffic from twitter is to offer value to the followers instead of selling your business.  The mistake made by businesses is that they only tell the followers what they have to offer instead of being considerate and take into consideration the problems that the followers face. Therefore, attract their attention and increase traffic to the website; you need to tell the followers that how you can assist them in their problem and help them solve it in a better way.

Utilize Hashtags:

There is no denying the fact that Twitter has become synonymous with hashtags. Therefore, with the use of hashtags, a business will be able to know the places where the hot discussions regarding the niche are taking place, and there the business can target the audience and with quality sharing attract them towards the website. Thus, with the understanding and proper utilization of hashtags, a business is able to target the willing and greater audience and then bring them towards the website for greater leads and sales generation.

Use Images:

With a single picture, a business can say thousands of attractive ideas for which it would require numerous tweets. Thus, in order to ensure that the business does not over-utilize text to the limit of saturation which makes the tweet easy to ignore for the audience, the business must utilize pictures and share quality images to ensure that the attention of the customers is grabbed and ultimately go to the website of the business to explore more about the background or foreshadowing of the content of the picture.

Get To The Point:

Another element that can help increase the flow of traffic from twitter to the website is being to the point. When you are to the point, which shows your effective utilization of characters, and you also introduce a call to action in your precise tweet, the ultimate result is that it builds curiosity in the follower and to satisfy that curiosity the followers inevitably visit the website of the business. Therefore, it is imperative to be to the point and include call to action in the tweet.

Thank you very much for the write up, i learn something new today.

  2. Nate, great post and twitter is a great option. I like to quote a friend of mine, 70% of the business she closed in 2013 started with a conversation on Twitter.

One of my niche sites is doing really well with Niche sites and these are all great tips and things I use…especially hashtags. I’m a hashtag nut!

Thanks for sharing these tips Nate. I like the feature of using pictures in tweeting.

I make sure that my tweets provide value to my followers since I rarely post articles that are purely about selling

    Hey Nate,

You made a great point about bringing value. After all, I believe that the Network Marketer’s job is to educate their readers, not pitch their “Can’t Live Without” opportunity.

Whenever I use Twitter, I use hashtags also, which puts me in the eyes of the people looking into #NetworkMarketing or #SocialNetworking as example.

I have yet to learn about how to put images into my Twitter posts… I guess it’s time to do a Google search to learn how.

Thank You for the great post…

  7. Nate,
I used to be much more active on Twitter. I have veered away toward other sites for awhile. I did not even realize we could post images on Twitter. Also, I have not used hashtags on Twitter or on Facebook. So I have some serious corrections to make in my social media strategy.

Thanks for your information and suggestions.

    Warmly,

    Dr. Erica

i love to use twitter and i use it alot for sharing my posts but never actually know if i am using it correctly to my advantage

I never used Twitter much for business because I never really had that many followers until I started getting “personal” with my followers.

I should use it more often, but I’m more prone to Google + now considering how quickly that social network is growing. 🙂

  11. Nate,

Great tips, but for some reason, I’ve never caught on to Twitter. I use it, but I know I’m not using it effectively. I have very minimal use and/or feedback from folks on Twitter. I really prefer to use Facebook or Google +. Maybe one day, I’ll get the hang of it.

  12. I am not a business owner, but I have found that very few businesses I patronize use Twitter effectively. Either they send out a tweet once every several months (so who cares about their account) or they ignore you when you try to interact with them. What wasted opportunities!

Seeking out Big Dawgs and connecting with them is my fave twitter strategy Nate. Good post here! Tweeting is about leveraging. Hang with the right tweeters, be relevant, and you can get more targeted traffic tweeting. Power share.

  14. Great Tips Nate. Hash tags are great. I have found more information using them created my own to attract certain people. Exposure is good too. Thanks for sharing.

Although I’ve used Twitter for years, I’ve never gotten into spending much time there. I kind of dump and run. 😉 I did use TweetDeck for a while and that was fun, but time consuming. Pulled me away from my other work. I’m amazed at how powerful Twitter has become over the years, and I know I could be putting it to better use. Thanks for the reminder.

  16. I am finding myself using Twitter less and less – I love it as a source of immediate news, and inspirational quotes, but, I find myself being drawn more and more to Google +.

  17. Hi Nate,

I am ashamed to say it but as long as I have been online, I’ve never really learned how to work with Twitter the right way. Slowly, I am doing that now.

Great suggestions. Have a great day. Monna

  18. Thank you for the information ,Nate
I share posts on twitter ,but I think
I do not use it right ,
Maybe I should learn how to do better.

Same like others I’ve been using twitter since a long time but has few hundreds of followers and these tips are really useful to apply and get more followers.
