Personal Development Blog: 3 Ways On How to Live With an Abundant Mindset

Having an abundance mindset is crucial for success in MLM Network Marketing. Essentially, an abundance mindset means that you feel there are enough resources and successes for everyone in the world to share. Conversely, there is the scarcity mindset, which makes people believe that there is not enough to go around and that the success of one person must come at the expense of someone else. It is easy to see why an abundance mindset is important in MLM, as your success largely depends on the success of other people. You need your downline to succeed if your business is going to flourish. Here are three ways to help develop and live with an abundant mindset that will help you succeed in MLM and in life:

Personal Development Blog 3 Ways On How to Live With an Abundant Mindset1. Be grateful for the things you have

One of the best ways to live with an abundant mindset is by recognizing the things you have and not focusing on the things that you don’t have. A great way to do this is by making a list of all of the things in your life that you are happy about or grateful for. If you are having a hard time developing this list then you are probably not living with an abundance mindset. People like this tend to focus on all of the things that they don’t have in their life, which creates resentment that is not good for the mind or the success of your business. Making a list of the things you are grateful for will help you start to change your mindset to one of abundance.

2. Stay positive and focus on the things you have

Many people sit around thinking about all of the ways that their life or business is not working out and ignore the ways that it is. This is not a good way to develop an abundance mindset. Instead, you should focus on the things you do have and then think about how you will get the things that you want in the future. This is especially important in business, as staying positive will help you to focus on your goals and make it more likely that you achieve them. Staying positive and focusing on abundance will help you develop the mindset necessary for success in MLM.

People with a scarcity mindset usually look to blame others when things do not go as planned. They think that their failure is a result of someone else’s success or that there are forces conspiring against them. In order to live with an abundance mindset you must take responsibility for your own actions and realize that other people do not dictate your successes. When you stop blaming others then it is easier to see problems with your approach that can be fixed. You must acknowledge your mistakes in order to learn from them.

These are just three ways to help develop and live with an abundant mindset. By practicing these methods you will be much more likely to have success in MLM and in life.

    Hey Nate,

Absolutely an abundant mindset is a must. Alot of people out in the world look at what they don’t have rather than appreciate what they do have.

First we must be grateful. If we have a roof over our head, food, and hot water, how fortunate are we?

It sounds simple but be grateful for all you have because someone else won’t have as much as you…

    Thanks for the post 🙂

    Hello Nate –

Much of society seems to be built on a scarcity mentality. It’s a mentality that tells people that there is a lack in life, that opportunities are few and far between. This is, of course, useful for society because if people feel that there is a lack, then you can get them to buy stuff; thus, the economy and society can continue to thrive and prosper by reinforcing a scarcity mentality in people.

      Hi Scott,

Very true my friend. Scarcity leads to lack. Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re absolutely right. Thanks for the comments Scott!

Great advice, Nate. There are times we tend to focus more on the things we do not have, causing us to overlook the things that we do have.

    Excellent post Nate!

I love the idea of making “lists” of everything you are greatful for. This is something I try and stick to doing daily. I look forward to reading more from you!

      Hi Jessica,

Excited to see a new face here. I’m glad to have you here. Yes, writing a “list” of everything you’re grateful for is a great reminder to reflect on daily. I look forward to interacting with you in the future. 🙂

    Hi Nate,

All great points. I believe No.3 is the hardest to swallow. Most of us have the ego to block us from admitting that the excuses are often created to keep us in the comfort zone.

By associating ourselves with like-minded ‘can do’ leaders and team mates, we are able to shift the focus back to our goals. What we focus on and associate with we get more of those.
It makes sense to surround ourselves with leaders who continue to inspire and lead us.

Great insight, Nate! I appreciate you.

      Hi Viola,

Yes, I agree, #3 is one of the hardest to swallow. Ego in many ways hinder us from moving forward in life. When I think of the word “ego”. It’s nothing more than a person’s sense of self-esteem or self-importance that they created in their own minds. When people create perceptions in their minds it can either help them or hurt them. In this case, it hurts them.

By associating and hanging out with people that have the same goals and dreams you have, are one of the best ways to focus and get back on your goals. I agree with you there, 110%. 🙂

Thank you so much Viola, love your comments!

All good points but # 3 for me is a biggie. Living where I do, it is hard to some of the things others do online due to language, and other things..

No excuses though, there is always a solution..Good stuff Nate.

  8. Andrea

Lately I have been noticing a lot of people making excuses and blaming. I’ve been working to distance myself from that energy.

    • Nate Leung

      Hey Andrea!

Glad to see a new face come on board, welcome. 🙂

I agree with you, so many people in our profession play the “blame” game. Where we need to grab the bull by the horns and take ownership of our success.

Yes, that sounds like a good plan by distancing yourself form those who steal your energy. After all they do not deserve it. 😉

Again, thanks for stopping by and would love to have you back and hear your feedback.

Awesome post Nate! It seems that we are always on the same page! I’ve been reading about how to strengthen my positive and abundant mindset. And plan to blog about it soon. My favorite tip is #1 be grateful. That is so powerful. Being grateful for even the tiny things is so important. You get the things you focus on. So if you focus on being grateful, more blessings will pour into your life!

    • Nate Leung

Hey Stefani! Yes, being grateful is powerful. So many people do not understand the word, let alone the meaning. That’s the secret… focus on being grateful and everything else will follow. Thanks Stefani!

3 rings with me Nate! All the ways rock but 3 is oft-ignored in the abundance department. Own it all. Be inspired, act inspired and when you fail, own it, and see opportunities arising from the failure.

Each of my big successes sprouted only after I owned my failure.

    Thanks for sharing buddy!

    • Nate Leung

Great feedback Ryan, much appreciated. Thanks for sharing that. 🙂

    Hey Nate,
As the old saying goes, that which you focus on is what you get more of. And I think it’s human nature to become ‘down’ once in a while. My wife once told me I was the most optimistic person she knows, but I still have days I wonder “why is nothing working”.
But I recognize it, and I can control it. Separate yourself from the frustration. Do something different, read something different and inspirational. Go for a walk.
You can control your mind and put yourself back on track.
For the abundance mindset – I can’t express how my life changed when I started, each night before bed, taking the time to pray and be thankful for the many blessings in my life. To focus on what I was truly grateful for.

    • Nate Leung

      Hey Jon,

Yes, I agree with you so many people feel that if you are optimistic that things you do will fall in your lap. I disagree with people who think and feel that way. They still need to take action behind it. Like you said, you’re aware of it, now you grab a hold of it and scale up from there. No need for frustration and being optimistic. Although, it’s good to be optimistic but other variables need to come into play and you said it perfectly. Thanks for sharing that, have a great weekend ahead.

    Hey Nate!

This is my second attempt at writing a long reply… haha. There was some error and it got all deleted. BLAH!

Here goes. I really enjoy gratitude the most because a lot of people do not fully understand what it really means to give gratitude to the things that we have. It is not only about saying “thank you” to all the things that we have in our life.

We have to show that we truly appreciate them and this usually comes in the form of action, which I talk about in one of my latest blog posts.

A lot of times people do not realize the “little” things in life that they should be grateful for. For example, the ability to see, talk, walk and even breathe. Some people are lying in the hospital right now, short of breath, and having to run on a machine to keep them alive.

While so many people take it for granted that the ability to breath is God given. So to develop that abundance mindset is having the ability to notice every single “small” thing around our life that we should be appreciative of.

I remember I tried to help one of my friends who was feeling very depressed over a period of time, telling her to come up with a list of just 10 things that she is appreciative of every single day. (Well… she didn’t do it so she was a very unhappy person for a long time).

The point I’m trying to get at, is to write down a list of 10 things every single day that you want to give thanks for. 10. It’s just a small number.

Over time, you could increase it up to 20 or even 100. This exercise helps you to notice every “little” thing in your life that you should be thankful for and will help you to develop that mindset of abundance as Nate highlights.

What are the things that you will not be able to live life normally if they were gone? Even that small little pinky makes a huge difference in your life.

    Darren Spruyt

    • Nate Leung

      Hey Darren,

I agree with you buddy, showing and expressing gratitude to people is something that can’t just be let off the hook by saying, “thank you”.

Showing and expressing has to come from the heart and actions speak louder than words.

Yes, people do not realize the little things in life. Being able to walk… I have a good friend who went through a serious tragedy and is now paralyzed. He’s is one of the most positive people I know and very grateful for his health, being alive and best of all being able to inspire the world through his message.

Like you said the things you are grateful for do not have to be big, they can be small, and as long as you are truly grateful for those “small” things, is all that matters.

      Love your feedback brother!
