Demographic Studies & Analytics

Salespeople only successfully sell red cars to people who want to buy red cars. This is an obvious fact, but one that few in the MLM world except for the most successful take to heart. In order to sell your product, you need to share it only with people who have a problem that needs to be resolved.  In order to effectively share an opportunity with someone who is open, you need to share it with only people who are looking. In order to know who wants in and who wants to buy, you need to take detailed analytics and perform some research on your target market.

What does this mean? Well, it means you should do some research on just who buys what you’re selling, when, how frequently, and in what quantities. Then, you need to strategically plan your marketing campaigns around the fruits of this research. Start sharing stories and testimonials with those who are looking to buy your product.  The better you are at storytelling the better you will be at moving the product.  You need to remember that facts tell, stories sell.  This is one quick and effective way to get more customers.

Online Sales

Ever wondered how the MLM greats do their do and rake in millions of dollars without batting an eye? Part of it is talent, but part of it is near-perfect web design. You see, web design and layout of your sales page are two of the most important things you can consider when setting up your MLM business. The advanced concepts of conversion optimization are, of course, complex, but one simple tip you can incorporate today to get more customers for your MLM business is to put the most compelling information you have on your product at the top of your website or social media page. These can be testimonials, pictures, your company replicated website or anything else you think your customers would find appealing.

Finally, you need to give up on the hard sell. People like to buy, from those that they know, like and trust, because it’s how the rep made them feel.  People will always remember how you made them feel, not what you said to them.  They don’t like to be sold to. There’s a distinct difference, so make sure you’re making connections with your potential customers so that they come to you and buy, buy, buy!

Now it’s your turn!

  1. I love #3…doing business with those we know, like and trust. But also we do business with those who are most like us. So people who are most like you will buy from you. Learn to mimic others and you will get more sales. For example, if someone is a visual person, use words like, “I see” and SHOW them what you are selling. If someone is a feeler, use phrases like, “This is how you’ll feel when using this product”. Then demonstrate using feeling words. If you listen to them talk, you’ll know how they are…visual, etc.

      Hi Stefani!

Yes, you start using feeler phrases, it will get the potential customer to be more comfortable with you. You show them value and how it can benefit them, you’ll make sales without even selling. Thank you for the comments!

You’re right Nate, the successful ones know how to find the right people who want what they have. There really is an art to it and apparently I never could get that going for me.

I so admire those that do though and I think this is a very lucrative business to be a part of.

    Great share again today Nate.

      Hi Adrienne,

Yes, it takes practice, desire and honing the skill set to find the right people. Thank you Adrienne!

  4. Nate, 3 tremendous ways to grab more customers. Endorsements rock. Why? People trust word of mouth marketing more easily than other forms. Nothing like hearing someone’s recount of an experience with you.

Right, Nate, why try to sell something to people who don’t want your product? Analytics are pretty vital to finding people who are willing to try what you offer.

Yes, that’s like trying to sell meat to Vegetarians. Figuring out what your target market is and wants. You’ll be better off giving them a solution that gives value in their lives.

Hi Nate, I am big on the first one and researching your avatar. Knowing who is looking for what you got is a big key in getting your message to the right person.

It’ll help you focus your message too.

    Great stuff.

Great post Nate. I love the part about avoiding the hard sell.

  8. Online networking is great but sometimes you just have to reach out and say “hello” Talk, but listen more than you speak!
