3 Quick Tips On How To Boost Your Confidence

You can have all the talent in the world, you can have a resolution strong as a rock, you can have endless resources at your disposal, but if you don’t believe in yourself, then all these things won’t do you any good regardless of how abundant they are and how easy it is for you to utilize them. Therefore, without self-confidence, nothing matters, and if there is self-confidence then everything else matters a little.

Regardless of whatever people tell you, I believe in the fact that like talent, self-confidence is not innate; rather it is a skill which you can acquire like any other skill. Therefore, it is imperative that you know the ways in which you can be more confident and increase your confidence level.

Below, I will be discussing with you a few quick tips that are imperative to boosting self-confidence.

3 Quick Tips On How To Boost Your Confidence

Repetition:

The self-confidence increases when you know that you are good at the thing you are undertaking. For instance, if you are a salesperson then you will only be a confident salesperson if you know that you are good at selling things. Now this factor of feeling good about what you can do increases when you know that you are the master of that particular activity, and you can only be the master of the activity when you have repeated the activity so many times that you can do it anywhere, anytime and under any circumstances. Therefore, for building self-confidence, it is imperative that you repeat the activity as many times as possible before presenting it to people who are going to judge you on the basis of that. It can be everyday life speaking with confidence, the confidence you show on the sports field, or the confidence that you exhibit in meetings with clients.

Shut The Negatives:

The second thing that harms self-confidence the most and demolishes it is negatives. These negatives can be in the form of negative thoughts produced by your mind or the negative comments of others. Therefore, it is imperative that you shut down the negatives from penetrating your skull. Pertaining to the negatives comments of people, the simple solution is to ignore them. Thus, when you won’t reckon their negative and demoralizing comments, then there will be a time when they will quit doing it. As far as the negative thoughts of your mind are concerned, the only way to get rid of them is by filling your mind with positive thoughts about yourself. If you can’t seem to work your way around it, then having a paper with your strengths on it is another way of boosting self-confidence at the time of need. Therefore, in order to boost self-confidence, you need to shut the negative thoughts and the negative comments from reaching your mind.

3 Quick Tips On How To Boost Your Confidence

Focus on Positives:

No denying the fact that we all have our shortcomings. Some of us are good at something while the rest of us are bad at the same thing. We all cannot be good at everything; it is the bases of life. Therefore, if we all start focusing on our flaws then wonder where the world would be right now. Hence, it is imperative to understand the flaws but focus on the positives to boost self-confidence. Therefore, whenever you are in a situation where your goods and flaws are visible to you, then understand the existence of the flaws, and think in your mind that if you are good enough to be at a place where you are with all your flaws, then definitely you are good enough to progress and move forward on the bases of same positive attributes. Hence, whenever you feel shaky, focus on your positives and you will observe a boost in your self-confidence level.

  1. Blasting post Nate! How comfortably convinced!

Repetition is definitely the only way to gain confidence before you put it in front of somebody who are going to judge it. I believe here is what you need diligence.

It reminds me of that movie ‘Karate Kid’. The boy expects his teacher to teach him the steps and strategies and is really irritated to find him practicing to drop and hang his jacket the hole day. Later he knows what’s the importance of repetition!

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Suresh!

Yes, the movie ‘Karate Kid’s is a perfect example of repetition. Thank you for the comments!

Very unique post i must admit. I can tell from experience that once in a while, every individual go through low self esteem.
I agree with the negative thought, some people don’t know how powerful their MIND can be!
    Thank you for this post.

It is really amazing what being confident can do. It opens many doors.

I think the number killer one of confidence is dwelling on negativity. Thanks for sharing with us these insights.

  4. Focusing on positive attitudes is my favorite tip to boasting my confidence, when i have a positive attitude i see only reasons to either do something useful or not do anything at all if it wont be useful. Shutting off the negatives also works when i know what i don’t want so i can easily shut my mind off from it, but then i am an open minded person so i always try to see the good in things and will always favor keeping positive attitudes.

    • Nate Leung says:

It’s not always perfect but it always pays to have your head in the right mindset!

  5. Greg Mock says:

Thanks Nate. That first one “Repetition” really got me thinking and reflecting back on my growth process on anything. At first it’s uncomfortable but over time with REPETITION, things that used to make me nervous are (I hate to say it) boring. Pretty funny how our minds work once we overcome a challenge…. we need more. Thanks brother!

  6. Your section on “Shut The Negatives” is so true and so difficult for people to do. For so many people the negatives are so deep that they don’t even know it. They need a break-through in some way…I don’t have an answer but that is probably one of the biggest thing that is hurting people and stopping them from true happiness and success. Great site and content.

Great tips to boost confidence Nate!

  8. Great content Nate! In my younger years I really struggled with self doubt, low self esteem and that resulted in my inability to take risks. I always played it safe to avoid ‘fear of failure’.

I’m happy to say though that now I’m all grown up and having failed my way to success in many of life’s journeys. I love who I have become and have gone on to achieve some almighty goals! And so the journey continues… 🙂

      Hi Debbie,

Glad to see you here on my site! Thank you for sharing your story! Please come back again soon! 🙂

  9. Great tips! I especially like your tip to “focus on the positive” I find that many times people are so caught up in trying to fix what’s wrong that they forget about all that is going right.

Exactly! Focus on what works, not what “doesn’t work”. Great analogy Benecia!

    Awesome tips! Thanks Nate!

  11. Andrea says:

Hi Nate, great post! All good points on how to build your self-esteem and self-confidence up. Repetition definitely works for me, if I’m feeling a little wobbly about something, I try to detach from needing it to be a certain way and give it a go. That removes the stress from having to be brilliant, and once I’ve done it, it went OK, now I’m feeling confident to keep at it. I also find if I focus on what I’m good at, and also focus on seeing what other people are good at, that’s what I tend to see all the time. It builds my confidence and also others, so it’s a spiral of confidence all round. Andrea

  12. Of the 3 points the negative thoughts have to be the worst! I can pretty much talk myself into trying anything with positive self talk. Now repetition….makes me think I’d better go jump on that treadmill if I am really going to conquer that half marathon this year. Thanks for the reminders!

  13. Hristiqn Nikolov says:

Great one, though I would add to try to put yourself in situtations you are not used to. Like try talking more to strangers and girls 🙂 It’s not hard and it’s something that will help you improve your confidence by a lot.

    • Nate Leung says:

Put yourself in uncomfortable situations so that it allows you to grow! Couldn’t agree with you more my friend!

  15. Great tips. I think another way to boost your confidence is to remember to celebrate you success, each an everyone of them. Big and small.

  16. Sara West says:

That is so true, Nate! I am super confident with the children when I’m entertaining them because I know just how good my parties are but put me in a room full of adults at a networking event or similar and I really struggle. I am trying very hard to focus on the positives this year!

    • Nate Leung says:

It’s only the 2nd day of the new year. You still have a few days left! 😉

  17. Great information. Being positive all the time can be a challenge. But I work on that everyday. One of the main things I do is read positive books and only surround myself with positive people.
    Thanks for sharing Nate………..

  18. Nate, I had a lifetime of low self-esteem and I have to tell you that it’s been another lifetime of pulling myself up out of that. It’s very difficult to get rid of the negativity once you’ve convinced yourself of its truth. You have to find the positives and slowly squeeze that negativity out. Very difficult. Thanks for the post. It’s an interesting read. 😉

  21. I had a lot of low self esteem growing up. I think it changed when I got pregnant with my son and became responsible for that little human being. When I think about all the things that I went through to bring him in this world I feel like a super woman!

  25. Hi Nate, such a great post, I notice that when i don’t get enough exercise my energy and vibe levels go down but in saying that – listening to powerful audios really go a long way for me.

      Hi Grace,

Listening to audios helps a lot of people and it also removes a lot of the garbage and noise that’s store in our subconscious.
