Internet Marketing Tips: 3 Best Practices for Facebook Marketing and Lead Generation

If you’ve been looking to take advantage of all that social media has to offer when it comes to lead generation (and specifically want to use industry titan Facebook for most of your online marketing), then you’re going to want to pay close attention to the information provided below.

Facebook is a platform used by hundreds and hundreds of millions of people every single day – contributing to billions and billions of hours of time on the Facebook platform every single month. You simply cannot avoid this much traffic when trying to build an Internet business and expect any success, especially since Facebook makes it so easy to market on the platform.

That being said, you’re going to want to focus on the critical components and best practices for Facebook marketing and lead generation – which are not as obvious as you may have assumed. You’re going to provide you with three specific “insider tactics” that some elite-level Facebook marketing professionals are using right now to generate ridiculously targeted traffic for pennies on the dollar.

Spend 90% of your time focusing on the right market and people

The reason that so much Facebook marketing and lead generation flop right on its face the moment that it rolls out is because it hasn’t been specifically and selectively targeted in the first place. The last thing that you’re going to want to do is “broadcast” marketing on the Facebook platform – trying to pull off the same kind of marketing strategies and tactics that they companies try to pull off with television and radio.

You just won’t have the money to back it up.

Instead spend 90% of your time focusing on exactly who you want as a customer, exactly what kinds of key criteria you should focus on using the Facebook demographic tools, and exactly what kind of message you should use to reach them with ease.

3 Best Practices for Facebook Marketing and Lead Generation

Don’t be afraid of being a little controversial – Like Miley Cyrus!

The truth of the matter is that too much marketing and advertising out there is “plain vanilla” – not exactly worth the digital paper it’s printed on.

We are constantly bombarded with well over 3000+ marketing and advertising pieces every single day (across all different kinds of media) and the last thing that we want to deal with is more marketing. However, when we see something that grabs our attention – literally sucks the eyeballs right out of our heads – we can’t help but pay attention, which is what controversial marketing does with relative ease.

Stop searching for the cheapest leads

You’re not the first person in the world to want to find the absolute cheapest leads possible for their business – and you’re not going to be the last.

In fact, there are probably literally millions and millions of other business owners looking to find the cheapest possible Facebook leads right this very minute – which means your competition is going to be rather stiff. If you instead focus 90% on the market and craft slightly controversial advertisements, you can instead go after more and more expensive leads – understanding that they are going to pay off much more effectively when you get them into your sales funnel.

All in all, Facebook lead generation and marketing can be rather simple and straightforward – provided that you pay attention to the tips we’ve provided above.

Now it’s your turn!

OK, not to sound stupid, but here goes. Where are you suppose to find you niche marketing leads. I sell promotional products, i have no idea where I should look as they are corporations that usually buy to put their logos on our products. I don’t know if I could get away with controversial marketing.

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Arleen,

Not at all. It depends on your product and your unique selling preposition. The products that you’re selling, who do you feel could benefit from it? Let’s say you’re a meat seller. It wouldn’t make sense to sell meat to vegetarians. So with the products that you do sell, you can target those people who would benefit from it the most. What I do believe is that everyone could benefit from our products but not everyone is an ideal customer. Hope this helps! 🙂

  16. Hi Nate,

Suck the eyeballs out of your head LOL! And true man. We have seen it all so we need to see something new, to catch our attention. Miley is crafty. Lady Gaga is crafty. These top entertainers know how to be themselves and push people’s buttons at the same time.

Focus on that 90% and leave the cheap leads for people who want to struggle forever. Let them go. If somebody is being paid pennies to click a link would they be a prospering, successful, motivated team member?

    Thanks for sharing Nate!

    Ryan

    • Nate Leung says:

You’re right Ryan. They are crafty. Focus on the time spent on the valuable leads that are serious. Love your comments!

  20. Leo Deleon says:

Facebook marketing is very new to me. I am currently learning it under a well known Facebook marketer and what you touch upon in this post is dead on target. It’s like any form of marketing out there, you have to start with who you’re trying market to, otherwise, it will be a waste of time. Great post Nate.

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Leo,

Thanks for visiting my website! Yes, you are right, just like any new medium, you just have to figure out who you’re targeting. Appreciate the feedback!

  21. Hey Nate,

Finding that right market is one lesson that took me a while to learn. you definitely want to meet people everyday and figure out who would be your perfect prospects. Why spend time on those tire kickers if you can focus on people that are serious about becoming successful? It may be a little more of a challenge to find those perfect prospects, but it well worth it!

    Thanks Nate!

    • Nate Leung says:

Yes, the key here is quality over quantity. Work a little harder, filter out the bad ones and spend your time with the ones who are serious. Thanks for the comments Sherman!

  22. Jason Power says:

    Good info Nate as always,

I like the part where you talk about being controversial and I think there are different ways depending on the person to go about it. Sometimes I think its really just about stepping out of your comfort zone, at least that’s how I took it.

    • Nate Leung says:

      Hi Jason,

Yes, sometimes controversial can lead to be honest and transparent. It’s not always about getting attention, but then again, you have to separate yourself from everyone else. Appreciate you stopping by Jason! 🙂
