How To Unlock Your Inner Genius

Primarily the people of this world, on a cognitive level, fall into two groups. The first group comprises of people who are happy in what they do and would keep on following the conventions and doing the same job over and over again. The second group consists of people who have the habit of pondering over the thing and this pondering of theirs leads them to think out of the box and thus giving birth to creativity.

This classification of people into ordinary and creative people is not on the basis of their genes, rather it’s on the basis of their thinking that people get categorized into a particular group. Therefore, it is all a matter of unlocking the genius within us and keeping it in the same way to ensure creativity.

How To Unlock Your Inner Genius

What Is a Genius?

The thing with creative people is that they have never been able to define creativity or how it comes to them. For some creativity is an invisible being, for some it is Divine and for some, it is something within themselves that speaks with them in unknown and unforeseen circumstances giving the thoughts, ideas, and visions. The ideology that creativity comes from something within is what we now days call ‘genius’. Therefore, it is important for every one of us to stay in contact with this part of our body and make it help us become creative.

How Creative People Communicate With The Innate Genius

The thing that happens the most with fewer ordinary people and all the creative people is that when they wish to come in contact with the genius part of themselves, it stops responding. This lack of communication with the genius part or not being able to unlock is what causes the desperation in creative people and this desperation gives birth to all the gloominess for which all the creative people are known, whether they are artists, musicians, painters, writers, poets, entrepreneurs or anyone from the creativity league. When the genius stops communicating with them they feel at sea in whatever they are doing, they aren’t able to write prose, the metaphors of poetry don’t come to them, the business idea seems unrealistic, thus the whole purpose of their life ceases. It is at this point of time in their lives that they feel helpless and have no vision, thus they fall prey to drinking, loneliness, and in severe cases madness. It is at this point in time when they require something anything that would help them unlock the genius.

How To Unlock Your Inner Genius

Unlocking Genius

The one thing that can help unlock the genius at such phases in the life of creative people is perseverance. If you are a poet and you are stuck on the last verse of your poem, then instead of being stuck there and putting everything on hold to make that verse come true, what you can do is keep on writing verses without worrying about the fact that they are not coming from your genius self. Thus, eventually, there will be a time when the verses will start flowing and coming from the genius part of your mind. Similarly, if you are an entrepreneur and are stuck at the creative part of launching a business, then keep on trying all that you can do and don’t have any doubts take birth in your mind, eventually, the genius part will open to you and you will be able to get through with creativity. Therefore, to unlock the genius in you, all you require is perseverance. The more consistent you are in your efforts, the more the chances of genius part of you opening to you and unlocking the doors of creativity.

I need to unlock mine… 😉 I find that by taking time to reflect on the prior week (and the week ahead!), I’m able to get things done.

  4. You definitely have a way of putting things in perspective. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Hi Nate,
In my creative writing, I have had some of my best songs and poems “come through” me instantly. It’s like turning on a tap. I’ve never been stuck for ideas, as I am always in tune with my creativity. In fact, I’ve thought of ways to never be stuck.

I think when it comes down to it, we all all have something valuable to contribute. I think every person is endowed with certain God-given gifts and abilities that make them unique.

They did not measure IQ in Einstein’s time, but I find it interesting that many people have heard his famous E=MC2 formula and his “theory of relativity” has led to greater discoveries in quantum physics.

I think your right, Perseverance pays! And much more handsomely than the path of least persistence.

    Kind Regards,
    Bill

I naturally tap into my genius when I’m out in nature, walking or driving alone. Either in silence or while listening to some empower, inspiring music or audio. 🙂

  8. Hi Nate,

Great post. I guess I have never thought of creativity as being genius. I’m always creating something in my mind. I just had so many ideas it was hard to decide and once I stopped trying to decide I could then see what I was meant to do and that was write.

Sometimes we block ourselves from seeing what is right in front of us.

    Have a great day, Monna

    Hi Nate,

The posts flow OH SO MUCH more smoothly when I write day after day, after day….3 to 5 posts daily. Super advice! No genius here but being prolific, or creative, becomes easy if you commit to your craft.

    Thanks!

  10. Nate: Interesting post. I think creativity and genius are 2 different things. I think people can be geniuses in their own area of strength, for example a great communicator like Oprah or leader like Nelson Mandela.

I do agree their are creative geniuses like poets, inventors, writer. I also believe that we can learn to be more creative if we learn to access that part of our mind. For example posting in a blog everyday forces you to become a creative writer. The more you do it the better your writing gets.

Great post! I find that when I get stuck I stop and I should just persevere through.

Although today, I actually did persevere and I finished part of a free offer I will be giving away soon on my coaching website. Great post!

  12. Samuel says:

Perseverance is the thing I like to see included in this article!

Geniuses are people who work really hard in unlocking their potential.

    They work hard.

    Thanks for the article!

  13. The best time for me to unlock my genius is in the shower. Sounds funny, but there is something about the warm water that clears my mind. I’m not thinking of my to-do list or being tugged on by my kids. It’s a time when I let new ideas flow into my mind.

  16. I bet everyone has an inner genius. My genius is that part of me i can reach out to whenever am stuck on something to find a solution, sometimes i meditate just as Ryan has said to communicate with my inner genius and just like magic ideas flood my mind and i find solutions to whatever problem am facing. Nate you have always amazed me by the number and quality of post you come up with everyday, they are always mind-blowing and i am always eager to read your post to the last to see how it ends. You and Ryan have something in common and that is the ability to get me interested in your blogs and in you as the writer. Thanks for the knowledge you have been sharing here, keep it up.
