6 Differences between Facebook and Twitter Marketing

The fact is evident that without social media marketing, the businesses cannot possibly survive these days. However, this does not mean that having a profile for each of the social media platforms suffices the need; rather, a business must utilize the platforms according to their potential in order to gain effective benefits from them. And in order to do so, the business requires understanding the differences between the platforms.

 

Facebook and twitter are the two biggest and most dominating social media platforms these days. Both of these platforms have their own distinctive features and qualities, which make the suitable for a particular marketing campaign.       there were a few things I did not think about before,
      like Twitter is not as busy as Facebook
      and the response time ,

      Comparing Facebook and Twitter is something like comparing cats and dogs, or knitting and crochet. So many similarities, yet they are very different. I use both. Twitter has great potential for relationship building — you just have to choose the individuals you want to interact with, and do it. But the breakneck speed of Twitter is dizzying for me. Facebook is more my pace.

      I like your breakdown of the comparisons and benefits of each. When I began online I was very active on Twitter. At that time I had very few followers so when I tweeted, I got quick responses. Now my tweets can get lost in cyberspace. On Facebook, on the other hand, I have some loyal friends and followers who quickly respond to my shares – and that feels so good. And in the groups there is a lot of interaction. I keep forgetting to use hashtags on my tweets or Facebook posts.

      I use both platforms, but mostly interact with my people on Facebook. I use Twitter mainly for updates on blog posts, etc.

      I get the best results with Facebook in terms of communication with my audience; whereas, I get better “personal response” from Twitter followers.

      For me, Twitter is for friendship as Facebook is to marketing. :)

      I only have the experience of my blog but I have to say that I’ve been a lot more successful promoting it through Facebook than through Twitter. And, as I’ve mentioned before, I think a lot of businesses trying to use social media just don’t do it right – on either Facebook or Twitter.

      My preference is FaceBook because it is much easier and more fun to connect with family, friends, and business interests. I’ve been on Twitter longer than FB, about five or six years, and really did give it a try. I used TweetDeck for a while and enjoyed seeing the various threads but I found myself spending too much time on Twitter and not getting anything else done. So, FB it is for me unless something better comes along – and I haven’t seen anything else that I like.

      I do use both Facebook and Twitter, but oddly what has been working for me? Reddit and StumbleUpon. It may be because we write viral stories, but some of our news articles have done very well. I would also suggest Pinterest if bloggers use pictures in their content. You can link directly to your blog. This ever-changing landscape of interaction continually grows. Gotta love it.       While Facebook has 1+ billion users compared to Twitter’s 500 million, when you post on FB you’re not reaching those 1 billion peeps.
      I use both FB and Twitter, but get more engagement (i.e. building relationships w/biz professionals) on my FB personal profile than on my Fan Page. However, I still do both.
      And, I use LinkedIn – the largest business professional network!

      Very helpful post. Learning how to use social media effectively is key to any online campaign. Simply blasting links hoping someone will bite is haphazard and a waste of time.       As far as relationship building, I find both twitter and facebook about equal. I don’t think either of them have led to a sale of one of my books. ‘They’ say, marketing a product takes time. However, that time might run out for an older person and all their effort might prove worthless.
