5 Steps For Creating The Online Business You Want

We all aspire to have a successful online business. Yet most of us have not done so.

We complain and moan about why we haven't had success.

We look at other people in our industry that are having the success we want, yet we point fingers and blame outside circumstances to why we are not successful.

We need to understand that our talents and gifts exist in all of us. It's just a matter of pulling it out of ourselves.

Regardless of your current financial or personal situation. It helps to believe that it is possible to create the lifestyle we want through an online business.

Is there an exact fool-proof blueprint? No, but there are common features that anyone can practice.

Want to have a successful online business? Read on…

Take No Less Than 100% For Your Online Business

Every day we ask ourselves how we should succeed in our business.  The answer is simple.

Your online business is a reflection of you.  As you go through uncomfortable situations that force you to grow, you'll notice that your business will grow too.  There are always new things to learn in your business.

For what it's worth, take the good and the bad of taking 100% responsibility for your business.

Be Clear On Why You're Doing The Business

When it comes to building your online business, whether you've already launched or still in the pre-launch phase.  Knowing your “why” will help you stay committed to your dreams and help others do so too.

Having a clear vision is the key to building a successful online business.  Having a clear and motivating purpose gets you through the challenging times.  That's good or bad. This will set for having a higher standard for your business.

If you are not 100% committed to making your “why” a reality, you will not do the things necessary to nurture your business through it's inevitable growing pains.

Let's face it, most online businesses fail within 5 years of their inception. They barely make enough to make money to keep their business running and to live off of.

Don't make money your goal.  Pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that most people cannot forget about you.

Believe That Success Is Possible

As humans, we respond to information from the outside world.  The mind is a powerful instrument that can deliver everything you want.  But you have to believe that what you want is possible.

As you commit to believing in yourself, also make a commitment to what is not working for you.

I'm not successful…

I'm not making any money…

I will never get my online business off the ground…

Really examine your thoughts when it comes to the success of your business.  They are not about other people, but always about you.

Become An Inverse Paranoid

Ever heard of this one before?  Instead of believing the world is out to get you, believe that the world is out to do good for you.  Instead of seeing everything as difficult or challenging, see it as to enrich or empower you.

Imagine for a second how much easier it would be to succeed in life if you were constantly expecting good things to happen in your business?

Unleash The Power Of Goal Setting

Goals give you something to focus on.  Imagine having to shoot an arrow without a target to hit.  Where would you aim? Goals give you direction in life.  The sense of direction is what allows your mind to focus.  This also serves as a benchmark for you to compare with.

By setting goals you give yourself mental boundaries. When you have a certain end point in mind you automatically stay away from certain distractions and stay focused towards the goal.

The root of all the motivation or inspiration you have ever felt in your entire life are goals.

Goal setting provides you with the foundation for your drive. By making a goal you give yourself a concrete endpoint to aim for and get excited about.

It gives you something to focus on and put 100% of your effort into and this focus is what develops motivation. Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive directions, these can be changed as your priorities change, new ones added, and others dropped.

Change your behavior to change your outcome

Making a change might be uncomfortable and overwhelming for you. It might mean you have to put in more time, money, and effort.

It might mean that someone gets upset about it, or makes you feel bad about your decision. It might be difficult to change or leave a situation, but staying put is your choice so why continue to complain?

You can either do something about it or not. It is your choice and you have responsibility for your choices.

Let Me Turn It Over To You

So, if you need just one thing to do differently today than you did yesterday, make it this:

Commit to taking 100% responsibility for every aspect of your life.

Decide to make changes, one step at a time.

Once you start the process you’ll discover it is much easier to get what you want by taking control of your thoughts, your visualizations, and your actions!

This advice reminds me of a popular saying. How do you eat an elephant? In small bite-sized chunks.

I absolutely love this advice and it is so applicable for ALL goals. One of my favorite quotes is “To change one’s life: Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly. Have a no excuses attitude.” I feel like your advice follows right along with that!

I find that most people who start an online business, fail to treat it as a business. They treat it as a hobby and then get frustrated when they don’t see results as quickly as they want. Being focused and setting goals is great advice to keep someone on track to creating a successful business.

      Hi Sybil,

Yes, that is often the case. It’s the struggles and failures that will help them get past the hurdles in order for them to succeed.

My favorite part of this is how you say believe success is possible. I struggle trying to have positive affirmation and beliving I can do this. But I do find I have a much better outcome when I belive I can succeed.
