5 Simple Ways to Clear Distractions in Your Business

Within the world of network marketing, the element of focus is an essential part of the process that allows you to eventually work your way towards becoming successful. If you and your team are not focused (regardless of the type of products or services that you are selling to your customers and clients), your failure is inevitable. There are several effective techniques that you can follow, however, in order to make sure that all distractions that are currently ruining your MLM business and the focus of your organization are eliminated.

Successful Business People.

Identify Your Core Team

Regardless of how many people you have working within your network marketing organization, you need to keep in mind that they are not all part of your core team. You more than likely are familiar with the 80/20 rule when it applies to the world of business. Based on this principle, 20% of your organization is currently doing 80% of the work that your entire team generates. The people that makeup that 20%, therefore, are within your core team. By focusing your attention on these individuals more, you will not waste an excessive amount of time running after every single member that is already being distracted from reaching their own personal or professional goals.

Schedule and Manage Your Time Wisely

Time management is one of the most effective ways to clear distractions from within your MLM business because this process focuses on getting rid of distractions on an individual level. If you encourage your team members to commit themselves to a daily work schedule that covers every single aspect of your MLM business which needs to be addressed, then you will not have to worry about them becoming victims of everyday distractions that may emerge.

Track the Productivity of Your Team

You need to make sure that you always inspect what you expect from your team. This means that you need to make sure that you pay close attention to their average productivity levels. Focus on what the team is able to do as a complete unit, but your target objective should be to focus more on an individual level. This will allow you to easily identify who is working, how much they are working and whether or not what they are doing can actually be considered “work” in the first place.

Get Rid of the Dead Weight

Once you have completed the other steps involved to clear distractions from within your network marketing business, the next step is to simply get rid of the dead weight. You would have already identified the core team and studied the overall productivity levels of the other team members. Therefore, you will be able to identify who has potential and needs your assistance to become more effective and who simply do not want to work and needs to be shown the door.

Develop a Plan of Action

The final technique to clear distractions within your network marketing business is to develop a plan of action immediately that will allow you to get rid of the dead weight, clear all distractions and move forward with your core team at the forefront. These are all essential steps that need to be followed closely in order for you to not only get rid of distractions today but, more importantly, to eliminate them forever.

    Nate,

Good information here thanks for the tips, These distractions you point out can either make you procrastinate or just kill the momentum you have because you are off your focus.

    80/20 rule strikes again!
We can dream of a Team where everyone is motivated and working and getting results, but that just doesn’t happen.
Be there for everyone but support those who are building your business. Strengthen your leaders, because focusing on pulling the feet-draggers can only weigh-down your whole group.

      Hi Jon,

Absolutely! Time is so precious these days and we need to focus on those who are serious about the business and work with them. Appreciate the comments!

  4. What great ideas! My favorite is the time management. Without that, you’re just opening the door for distractions!

Getting rid of the dead weight will only occur when you’ve done enough work. Good lesson Nate.

    Great tips.
I use to have a hard time focusing but making a list the night before of what I need to do the next day really helps me keep focused and on track. Time management is a great one too!

  9. Nate, I like what you said about clearing the dead weight. I have my partners send me a counsel sheet each month. That lets me know in addition to other things about their activity level and results. Every quarter I like to meet with them individually for a counseling session. If I have a partner that is not performing for whatever reason. I try to downgrade them until they are mentally ready to build their business. That has helped me prevent people from having a negative experience, plus it helps in creating the repeat business volume.

    • Nate Leung says:

People forget to realize that this is a business. The fact that you are downgrading people is part of business, nothing personal. Your time is your most valuable asset. If people don’t value their life and their own time, what makes them think that they will value yours? Thank you for the comments!
