5 Reasons Why Picking A Tagline Is Important For Your Business

There is no denying the fact that taglines are important for a business even to the extent that some brand are recognized by their taglines and their standing in the market is highly influenced by the tagline. Therefore, it is imperative that no matter you have a small business or a large enterprise, what you must have is a perfect tagline.

The sad fact is that businesses undermine the importance of tagline and boast on the uniqueness of their product. What businesses that once their unique product is out, it will not stay unique, as competitors will start producing it; therefore, a tagline is required by the business to keep things differentiated. Below are five major reasons why selecting a good tagline is important for a business.

5 Reasons Why Picking A Tagline Is Important For Your Business1. Tells The Key Benefits

The first front where a tagline comes in handy is on the forefront of telling the key benefits of the business product or service to the customers. By reading a tagline, the customer gets an idea about what is expected from buying a particular product, and it’s on the bases of this message given by the products that the customer is able to differentiate one from the other. Therefore, a tagline works as a sales person explaining the benefits of business to the customers.

2. Brand Differentiation

The other factor that makes a tagline of grave importance for a business is the fact that it helps differentiate the brand. For instance, if to brands deal in offering the same product to the market with the same features, then the thing that will play the role of differentiating one brand from the other is the tagline. Thus using a tagline in an effective way results in the differentiating the brand from the rest of the competitors in the market.

3. Helps In Recalling A Brand

I am sure most of you would have come across a situation where you remembered a brand because of its tagline. You must have seen a commercial on TV where you might have come across a catchy tagline and afterwards with friends when something came up you referred to the tagline only to realize later what the actual brand name was. Therefore, tagline is one of the most effective tools that help customers recall the brand name when they have lots of brands available for a particular product in a market place.

4. Competitors Can’t Use

When you launch your unique product in the market, competitors can copy its technology, its design, its features and so on, but the one thing that the competitors can never copy is the tagline of the business. In other words, in this case the tagline is the brand itself that the competitors cannot copy. Therefore, if you are going to launch a new product in the market, then you need to select a tagline that best represents your brand and product features so that the competitors are not able to deceive the customers by offering them a product like yours.

Strategy5. Strategic Importance

Above all the most important benefit of a tagline is that it represents the vision and mission of the business in front of the customers. For businesses, taglines are of importance as they help business convey what they want to do and their goals to the customers. The knowledge of the vision and mission of the business is what makes a customer more inclined towards the offering of the business. Thus, a business is able to inspire its customers and make the brand more recognizable.

Now it’s Your Turn!

      Hi Nate,

I seriously feel tag lines help build a brand. In fact, when I post on social media, I have realized people preferred posts with tagline since it attracts that part of the conscious which urges us to read more. But it is also important to keep them short and spicy!

Nice points made by the way.

This has been a strategy used by many successful business owners worldwide, differentiating their brand from others and this explains the reasons why they stand out and succeed.

That’s cool enough…!!! When we were setting up the taglines for our venture’s site we thought a lot and came out with a meaningful one. It must be iconic in itself. What we can say is SHORT AND SWEET. :)

My tag line is “hands-on learning,” so people equate me with learning that includes more experiences. Tag lines that are shorter are easier to remember. I saw a tag line yesterday that had about 20 words. Nobody is going to remember that!

      [Reply]

      Nate Leung Reply:

That’s an awesome tag line Susan! Yes, you are right, no one is going to remember a tag line that goes on forever. Keep it short, sweet and simple. Thank you for the comments!
